Default JBR's Heavy Knob

Before I begin, let me just say that I've never modded a car before, mainly due to lack of funds.

Anyways, I've been modding my MS3 for 3 years now and I've always been skeptical about heavier knobs. I reached a point in my modding process that I didn't want to go any further due to smog/legal issues. Finally, I decided to try a heavier knob and see what all the fuss was about.

I'M AN IDIOT! I should have made this one of my first purchases. Jamie, your knob is damn sexy! I've seen other knobs and felt them too but none compares to yours. Your knob just feels right in my hand and for that, I thank the lord above for creating you and your knob!

Let's get down to brass knuckles here. Jamie's knob makes my shifts feel like a hot knife thru butter. I was shifting so fast that I actually blew my boost tube off of my boost gauge...that's how awesome your knob is! My old knob never once blew a boost tube before.

Bottom line, between your AWESOME customer service, and your AWESOME delivery time, and your AWESOME product quality, from now on I'm a LIFE LONG LOVER OF JBR!!!

tl;dr JBR is pure sex and I would recommend his products to ANYONE!

They say he sculpted the shift knobs after his actual knob...

To anyone that reads this make sure you buy the weight too. I tried to be a cheap bastard and just got the knob and it was like trying to shift a semi. Do it right the first time and get the weight!

^For short shift kits? I don't see a regular weight they're all listed as short shifter weights?

I can't comment on the shifter weight as I have a short throw shifter and coupled with the knob, it is pure sex!

Yeah. I haven't put the ssp or weight on yet. It's money.

Thinking about getting one, how is it with all the stock shifting parts? As in just the heavy knob with the stock parts lol

Not to thread jack, and I don't thinks it's worthy of another thread, but I bout the SSP from @jbarone and I gotta tell ya...it's awesome. The throw is not only shorter, but the feel is so much better. And I can shift so much faster now.

OH, and the shipping was quick, free and awesome! Thanks again @jbarone !

Honestly man, a STS and regular shifter isn't that much different from each other. It just shortens the shift by 35%.

Let me break it down for you in a simple way.

When I had the stock shifter, I missed third gear like EVERY FREAKING TIME at WOT. I got my STS and I still missed third gear about 80% of the time (let's just say, I need a driver mod). After I got my JBR heavy shift knob, I haven't missed third gear since...not even to mention, shifting to fifth gear is like 50 million times easier now at WOT.

This knob is pure sex and you will not regret buying it. Post back here when you get it and realize what I just realized.

I'm gonna do it then haha so just the heavy shift knob alone will make a big difference? It won't be like shifting a semi like the guy up a few posts said? lol

Honestly, I can't comment on his experience. But what I can say is, when I was stock it felt like shifting a semi. I can only imagine that adding the knob would only make it easier. Just my 2 cents! Take it for what it's worth.

Actually, ask @jbarone if he can hook you up with a deal for the knob and weight...he just might!

It's just slightly bigger then stock...honestly, if it wasn't for the temp difference, I wouldn't really notice.

Edit: I got his Eliminator knob so no clue about others...

@jbarone ?? haha but honestly I just want easier smoother shifts, I'm not really looking to go with a whole sts set up. So if just the eliminator shift knob makes a world of difference i'll get that but now it's getting all confusing haha

It's actually really simple. I'm going to pass you off to a resident near you to help you with your modding progress. @Stealth01 - Want to take this one under your wing?

@J'sSpeed3 -- where in CO are you?

A shifter plate is easy to install. So easy that if you're in Denver, it's not even worth your time to drive down here. I could talk you through it over the phone. If you're here, it's extra easy.

However, I won't touch Jamie's knob. It's black, and you know what they say...once you go black....

I must agree with the op...I ordered the knob/ssp/bushings/counter weight along with the 88a duro rmm and before I unwrapped everything the knob was so heavy I thought it was the rmm! Great stuff Jamie, can't wait for this warm weekend to put everything in.

Hahaha no i'm in pueblo actually. I just want the heavy knob if it'll help shifting, I don't really want to get the whole set up because of funds :/ so I guess my question is will just the Heavy Shift Knob work wonders on a completely stock shifting set up??

I did this initially. I got the knob and it was too heavy for my taste. I got the ssp and the shifting was definitely a lot smoother but still too heavy for my taste but not as bad as with the stock throw. I ended up getting a lighter weight and it's perfect. well to me at least. Slides into gear realll nice.

Hahaha no i'm in pueblo actually. I just want the heavy knob if it'll help shifting, I don't really want to get the whole set up because of funds :/ so I guess my question is will just the Heavy Shift Knob work wonders on a completely stock shifting set up??
Get the whole package. (thats what she said) You'll be a lot happier. I ended up having to buy everything piece by piece til I was content so might as well just go for it.

Again, let's let @jbarone give you a good deal that maybe you won't be able to pass up on. Send him a PM and quote this section...I'm 100% positive he will give you a great deal!

Yea it's looking like the whole kit would be:
Short shift plate and knob combo: 145
Bushings: 25
Shift weights: 20
Total: 190? or am I missing something?
And it looks like SURE is more expensive any input on that? @Stealth01 thanks for the PM you really set me on track for this

I greatly appreciate you wanting to spend $190.00 with us but I'd prefer you only spend $165.00. How does that sound?

You'll want a Stage 2 Short Shift Plate and Shift Knob Combo Meal for $165.00 <<<Clicky Here. There is NO better deal or better kit from anyone anywhere.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Jamie

Jamie's funny. It's almost like he cares and wants our business. Weird.

I bought his knob before and wasn't too thrilled with it but that was because im a nob and didn't install the adapter correct. This thread just convinced me that I need to purchase the knob again
