Default JBR stage 2 catch can question

I have an 08 speed3 and would love to run one of these catch can kits. I've had a can on every turbo vehicle I've owned and I really think it's a great piece of mind. However my 08 has had the "ventilation kit" installed for the smoking turbo warranty extension. Is the catch can now not necessary? I'm getting a bunch of conflicting info on what the ventilation kit does so I'm just trying to make sure.

Sorry for the noobish post!

Depends on how you set it up.
A sealed can between the pcv and intake mani will have no effect on the turbo or CC pressure

Well, it'd be setup as the instructions say which I believe is placing it between those two. JBR, do you have any insight into this?
