| Neutral : +1 score I have been giving this serious thought for a long time. So if the interest is there I will get it done I got an idea....You guys collaborate on the what, how's and why's and I'll do whatever possible to make it happen. If was going to design it these are some of the things I would need to take in to consideration: 1. Location? (It should be adaptable to both the GEN 1 and Gen 2) <---This is important to keep costs reasonable 2. Size? (This will affect location) 3. Material? (What is the best material to construct a tank of that will contain meth) 4. Site Tube or Low level sensor? 5. Size and type of fitting to connect the feed line to the most common pumps? Ok......Discuss! -Jamie |

Looking at the engine bay you don't have very many options either. You might be able to use the back left corner by the AC lines but his would affect the BT guys. Do I really want a gallon of meth next to my EWG/Dumptube/downpipe/ turbo? No. Some have used the area behind the battery box. You're limited on the size the of tank and people who have the HTP battery box are shit out of luck. You could also try and use the area next to the intake. But not everybody has a filter that allows them to do this. There is quite a bit of room in the bumper but making a tank to fit a first and 2nd gen might be a big pain in the ass. I would love the idea of a donut shaped tank that would fit inside the area of your spare. But That doesn't really work well with the stock Bose system. 2) How big do you really need your tank to be? I have a 2 qt tank and it last me a pretty long time. I also don't drive like a maniac everywhere I go and I have my controller to start spraying at 14psi. So unless I'm getting on it im not spraying much meth. I personally love the design of the DO 2.5g tank with the ability to mount the pump to the tank. But again, you can only mount it in one spot. The hatch. Maybe having a smaller tank you might be able to get away with being able to mount the pump and tank together in some sort of way. 3) I would imagine that some sort of 100% methanol compliant plastic would be the cheapest and most cost effective route. Although I don't know what you get your supplies for at cost. 4) I personally prefer a low level sensor. Parts can't be all that expensive for DO to be selling it for just $12. Throw in an LED with two wires for a few extra bucks and you have a pretty solid set up. A Site tube would only really be effective if we were to mount the unit in the hatch. But we don't have too many options with our limitation on space. 5) Most kits seem to use the the common nylon lines. Its cost effective and comes in many colors. I like clear the best as you can see any air bubbles that may be in your system. I'm not sure if it would even be worth including line with the kit. Rather have it as a separate section. I.E. $.75 per foot offer 3-4 colors or something and give a guideline like. approx. 5ft for engine mounted tank/pump. approx. 15ft for rear mounted units.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score well if we even where able to mount it on the frame rail or around the horn area, if it had a filling tube with a cap that has like a way to measure the meth in the tank like a washer fluid tank I think that would work out.

| Not Ranked : 0 score 1. Location? Wheel well. 2. Size? ~3 Gallons, basically whatever you can fit in there. 3. Material? Stainless Steel. 4. Site Tube or Low level sensor? Low level sensor. A little LED in the cabin makes things simple and convenient. 5. Size and type of fitting to connect the feed line to the most common pumps? Universal, external pump mounting location. Also, make a fill tube up to the top of the engine bay. Also, it only makes sense to put the fitting for the pump line in the back, since you'll have acceleration G's when spraying meth, I don't think any internal baffling would be necessary. Sturdy mounting to the frame... And wrinkle black powder coated of course. Then figure out a way to mount a catch can to it if it interferes with where most people currently mount their OCC's. Those are my ideas anyway.

| Not Ranked : 0 score The driver's wheel well is pretty cavernous and empty on the Pu, not sure if HIDs take up more or less space for where the goose neck could reside, but there's plenty of clearance for it to poke between the headlight wiring harness and fuse/relay bundle. I would use a plastic container and a wire basket to provide sturdy mounting points, and definitely include mounting points that would accommodate the JBR catch can as an added incentive to buy both.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I like the idea of a 3-4qt tank in the wheel well. I don't want a tank in the hatch. 1. Location? Engine bay/drivers side wheel well. If in the WW, it needs a neck for easy filling. 2. Size? Roughly a gallon. Something in the 3-6qt range would be sufficient for my needs 3. Material? I'd like to see a metal PC'd tank, but plastic w/ a filler neck would be OK. 4. Low level sensor is a no-brainer for me. 5. Size and type of fitting to connect the feed line to the most common pumps? I want AN fittings, but I may be in the minority. I think the SS line upgrade option from DO is -4 AN.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I definitely would want it in the front wheel well. You won't be able to please everyones situation as far as occ go. As someone else said, just make sure it accommodates your occ and that will give incentive for people to buy it also. My main concern is having a filler neck and low level sensor.

| Not Ranked : 0 score There is more than enough room to add a catchcan with tank and pump there. Just fab up another bracket. ![]() Plenty of space in the rear bumper cavity, just use a remote fill port. ![]() Or a molded tank and pump against the side wall of the hatch passenger side, make it thin for the tank (2 -3 inch thick, 20"Hx20"L) and the pump hide in the bottom corner cavity there. If I calculated right: 2x20x20 is 3 gallons (800cubic inches) 3x20x20 is 5 gallons (1200cubic inches) It wouldn't take up that much space in the hatch. Feed line taps into back bottom corner for liquid acceleration flow. Excuse my poor paint pic lol: Oh forgot: How about a multi port injection spacer for the intake manifold. Easy bolt in kit, so no drilling. I think there is enough room. Last edited by bioevolve; 01-19-2014 at 06:32 PM. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I think a replacement for the stock washer tank would be a bit more expensive but worth it in the long run. Maybe use a different bracket for pu vs won. Here's the stealthy kit that was just installed on my ride last night (pics for clearance/space availability on genwon): Enki's EFR Ordeal...

Most your devils own and snow and aqua mist kits come with 250psi pumps and are 1/4.. Also.. You dont want any hard bends in your lines cause over time the garmets will leak and if u have a snow or Devils own pump that means u have to buy a new pump as they are press in. Which is why most people run trunk mounted kits larger fuel cells and easy access. Make your tank to where they atleast have the option to mount the pump to it. IMO... I don't like low level sensors.. If you run meth you should be checking your equipment freg.. I like the sight gauge.. but to each their own.. Another question is if your making a tank why not make a kit. It dosen't make sense to spend 12-20k on a mold just to seel a few tanks. As most of the people asking about this have mentioned snow and devils own their kits come with tanks and a lot of people use windshield res. for tanks as they are already rated for meth. On the business side of this I don't see the profit in this without a kit.
lol... Alex do you know how big a 3 gallon tank is ... no way will that fit..

With that said, I have a run a 4gal aux fuel cell and that shit lasts me months without needing a refill and that's on straight E85 and 1000cc injectors. All I will throw into the mix here is that the only NHRA legal position to put this tank would be on the passenger side of the bay (stock washer tank location is all I can think of). That's where I'm looking at building a 2-3gal fuel cell for a PI setup. They won't allow you to put it on the driver's side because the trans is on that side. Now, the rules for water/meth tank location aren't really spelled out that I could see, but I believe it would be fine in the driver wheel well area AS LONG AS YOU'RE running <50% meth. As soon as it becomes a flamable liquid being pumped in, all safety requirements go to "fuel cell" rules. Only bringing this all up because I'm spending quite a bit of time right now making sure all my shit is track approved. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I personally think it would be nice to have the tank on the driver side wheel well. Also, those that have a catch can there can easily move it closer towards the front of the car or find a different spot. The driver side wheel well offers room for a nice large tank and is best suited for it, or at least I think so. It would also be nice to have a filler neck for the tank like someones drawing depicts.
