most people here dont realize that traps speeds and a consistent driver is virtually the same as a dyno.

ET is a combination of power and traction so its not as representative because traction is a sketchy variable.

if u roughly add 10hp per mph it pretty much ballparks you

stock I made 263bhp 98mph
fully bolted 355sih bhp 107mph
BT 405bhp 112mph

then u can do the 15% off each bhp to get your whp.... yeah its ricer math, but so are dynos.... i just dont see the point in comparing numbers between people, so i stick to just my won

I think we can all agree Lenny is above his 350whp goal and likely closer to 370-380whp based on his logs and running that m3.

only camera i have is my digital one and it sucks, but i dont think i am above 350.... i think i am close to it...hopefully when i get the do7 i can make another 15hp with timing and get a solid 360 and call it a day

this track is slow.... but im confident i can do 111mph.... shit ill be depressed if i dont do 111mph at least ....112mph and ill be happy....anything above is pure gravy

im waiting for the temp to go up a little so i can get to a dyno and properly tune this bitch. im tired of street tuning and i really want to play with timing which is a huge no-no on the street. once i can save some funds on the side and i get a warm free weekend ill go to the local dyno and start putting down numbers.

wll i cant find the goddamn it24s anywhere.... i had 2 sets of 22s and 2 sets of ngk s stockers...

here are the plugs from my car tonight i pulled.

#1 and #2 are perfect, they have a good color and that is how a good burning plug should look like, not like the pale shit u guys are used to.

now #3 and #4 are coated in who the fuck knows what, maybe the meth maybe yeast from phillyb s vag...who the fuck knows, i scraped with my fingernail a sample (u can see the insulator perfectly white underneath)

well since all i have are used 22s i put them on and will do a log or two see if there is any change, i really dont feel like spending money on 24s.... the meth and water ( i intend to use 75/25 meth water mix will lower the combustion enough to make a 6 range (oem) work perfect. running colder plugs just because thats what everyone else says is just one big fucken circle jerk.

only way to find the correct plug is to read them, there is no standard for 5k mas3s out there...

new logs, look cleaner.... temps were a few degrees higher and boost was off by a fraction.....

logs def look cleaner.

these 2 are WOT 3rd gear (1st log spun some)

datalog1.csv

datalog2.csv

this one is 4th gear WOT (and niggahs when i say WOT i let the rev limiter hit at 118mph LOL)

datalog3.csv

this one is taking off in first half throttle and second sort of pedaling it and 3rd WOT no powershifting into 4th.... ( u see total drop of boost between 3rd and 4th.... feels like shit, i need to learn to shift that super quick without powershifting)

this last one is 3rd gear wot powershifting into 4th.... boost drops to 15psi only..... car just pulled like crazy....

end result, idk... i wanna try a set of 24s and turn up timing.... the issue is that colder plugs drop power and my plan rather than run colder plugs is to cool the combustion with more meth and water.... in a sense its the same, except i run the spark plug closer to the center of the combustion and thats optimal.

but do to time issues i might try the 24s b4 saturday racing and add another 1-2 degrees if it lets me....

also i might switch springs on the mbc cuz i needz to run me 22psi ..... this 20.xx is getting on my nerves (in cabin extension???? lol)

lol what did i tell u nig? def try the 24's if u have time, theres nothing wrong with a colder plug AND meth to add even more timing. im telling u timing on this car is scary when u start adding a few deg's. shit feels like an uncaged beast!

whats up with your load? are you hitting your commanded? it looks like you only peak at 2ish and then fall to 1.68. that means your torque curve is falling off and i cant imagine why it would at that boost level unless your telling it to. and 11 deg at redline!?!?!?! jesus you need to see what 13-14 feels like haha. im not even sure i can open your map but send it to me or post it up so i can take a look see.

Come on Lenny, be a lemming and run colder plugs like the rest of us...LOL

Seriously, there is a good reason. ;-)

The new logs look pretty good. You could probably add 1° timing with the 22's and see how it responds (make sure to keep the sensor active until redline).

Also, you will lose power going to 75/25 meth/water, so I would just keep it at 100% meth. If you need more cooling/octane, just nozzle up.

but seriously, be careful with that 80K mile motor or hell any motor. I know that you know 20 PSI on a K04 and 20PSI on a 3071 are totally different things...

its easy to want to just turn it up a lil more b/c you get used to the power at a certain level and it starts to not feel powerful. Just run on spring for a few days each month to get perspective LOL

you really dont want to make the lines to the mbc longer than they have to be. you will really start to lose control if they get sloppy long.

the remote mbc's have the extension on the knob with a speedometer style cable. not the lines.

The new logs look pretty good. You could probably add 1° timing with the 22's and see how it responds (make sure to keep the sensor active until redline).

Also, you will lose power going to 75/25 meth/water, so I would just keep it at 100% meth. If you need more cooling/octane, just nozzle up.
i got 5 gallons of pre mix from trials so i gotta use it to not waste it...ill see how it does

alright, i asked aaron for one more degree across from 3500- to 7k..... loaded the map and drove around, seems to only KR .4 -.7 when i initially floor it and get full boost..just for a nano second. then zero across....

ill do controlled logging tonight when all the variables are equal...temp, boost etc.

ordered the itv24s from mark and 2day ed them so ill have them thursday and by then ill ask aaron for another 1.5 degrees on top of what we added today....i would like to see 13.5 to 14 at 6500 basically as long as I dont detonate.... once that goal is accomplished whether with itv24s or the addition of the do7 nozzle i am 100000000000000000000000000000% done!!!!

i keep telling u guys the same shit and u guys dont listen......... when I set out to go BT my goal was 350whp or so ...... I assumed like a moron that it would be MBC set to 18psi and bam we are done LOL....

apparently tuning is involved in the process and when u look at my logs on the same map with Ko4 i hit 13-14 degrees of timing.... so according to aaron since I hit those loads now with 10 degrees that's what the ECU does.... (in a sense its better so i can add timing slowly until i reach my potential rather than get the 14 degrees from map one and detonate all over the place.)

so, since 18psi and low timing netted me shit.... i upped the boost to 21.5psi while we tweak timing..... once i can do consistent 315/320 gm/s (and again im not MAF calibrated but i am comparing this to myself) I will be at desired HP level and be done.

maybe it will be 21.5psi @ 13 degrees of timing
maybe it will be 19psi @ 15 degrees of timing

i dont know.... but whatever it is i want a solid 350whp , this is why i keep upping shit, because i dont believe i am there.

just for you guys also to understand something else about the process for me the map on this log is unchanged ( i just have boost set to 19psi with MBC) but everything else is identical

u will notice it has about 12.5 degrees total by 6500 (4th gear pull)



now comparing it to this one from last night pushing 20-21 psi



as usual any input and or comments are welcomed, aaron is sort of my brain.... I ask for what i want in regards to the tune and he then applies it to ATR cuz i dont do so well with that shit, too much calculating

only variable changed is the MBC boost set about 1-1.5 psi higher.... and timing is automatically pulled back to 11 by 6500rpm 9technically the first log was spring pressure but since it creeps to 19psi regardless thats the psi u see at 6500)

that is what we intend to change because adding the boost makes me more power but the ECU automatically pulls back timing..... but I guess the new ATR can override that now and we will try to shoot for 13-14 total when the itv24s get here

only variable changed is the MBC boost set about 1-1.5 psi higher.... and timing is automatically pulled back to 11 by 6500rpm 9technically the first log was spring pressure but since it creeps to 19psi regardless thats the psi u see at 6500)

that is what we intend to change because adding the boost makes me more power but the ECU automatically pulls back timing..... but I guess the new ATR can override that now and we will try to shoot for 13-14 total when the itv24s get here
Timing is higher at lower boost because your load is ~1.66 at 6500 RPMS at 18.8 PSI vs 1.74 at 6500 RPMs at 21 PSI. The difference is 12.5° vs 11.0°.

If you look at your Ign Table - High Throttle/OL (Knocking) or Ign Table - High Throttle/OL (No Knocking), they are both calling for exactly what you are getting at these two load values.

There is nothing surprising going on here. When you have higher loads, the air temps in the cylinder will in general be higher and the flame front will propagate faster in a higher density medium, thus you would tend to require less timing. Your current map calls for this as one would expect.

However, it appears you still have an ability to shift to higher timing in these regions, but you should still keep the timing targets tapered with load.

this shits pissing me off now. here are tonight's logs.

this is 3rd gear on the fwy spinning from 4k to redline LOL... ( u can tell by how fast the rpm climbs between timestamps)

these next two 3rd gear wot.

this one 4th gear....KR everywhere.... probably past 5700 too but i muted that shit.

and these next two were a) a street launch softly 1st into 2nd spin and fucked shift into 3rd bogging and then into 4th

datalog5.csv

and b) 3rd gear wot powershifting into 4th

datalog6.csv










conclusion....who the fuck knows... u can see it has one more degree timing basically and the car already responding with KR.... like i said my shit runs like dogshit with timing.

not much else to do right now....ill have the 24s thursday along with the do7. im gonna try the 24s on another degree and a half of timing on this map above 5k and also will try the do7 after that.... i dont know... i might just turn the boost up to 22.5 and let the fucken timing be....shits pissing me off.

The KR is pretty much nonexistent in all of these runs except one.

I would just ignore the 0.35-0.7° stuff. You had one hit of 1.0°, which still isn't remotely bad.

I would keep the sensor active to redline, get some more pulls, and if you still don't see anymore KR than on these pulls, then add another 1°.

serious +1 here. put your sensor max at 7000 and dont touch it. your not helping power or your motor by muting it above 5700, that only worked in stock trim when you were dipping to 9's at redline.


FWIW i would call that knock minimal at best. unless your above 2.0 somewhere i wouldent even worry about it.

lenny can you take some screen shots of your load per gear 3 and 4 tables?


and does anyone know if that bug got fixed in ATR where you needed to unmarry your AP before you can load ATR onto your computer?
