sean..... that is a wonderful idea














for a guy interested in working on cars. i want the laziest , simplest way to 350whp.... i think at 22psi with 11 degrees of timing and itv24s (will confirm tonight no KR) i will do that and hopefully i can pop off a 112-114mph .... taking into account slow track, my innaptitude to shift 2-3 aggressively now and my weight that will confirm for me my goal and that is when i am done!!!

seriously screen shoot it if u want... i need confirmation of power and traps will reveal this more or less.

i said from day one i was after 350whp that to me is 112-114mph so there will be no more progress beyond that point but plenty of street racing stories

once again horrible experience. i should take up knitting.

the skinny:

3 runs total (fucken california speedway is a shithole ranby pieces of dogshit that all they do is take your money and treat u like shit)

run #1 slicks at 16psi , 2.108 60ft.... granny shift 2-3 ..83mph 8th and 13.4 at 107mph.... fail

run #2 slicks at 13psi 2.048 60ft granny shift 2-3 81mph 8th , missed 4th gear 13.4 at 104.xx fail

run #3 slicks at 11psi asshole at the water box todl me to stop outside of the water.... burnout botched... 2,9 60ft..... fail


i guess datalogs dont actually show power cuz my shit is identical as before by traps.... i can do those times and traps with ko4.....

conclusion: zero clue, too tired to give a flying fuck. im really burned out

On tubeless slicks such as hoosiers, 16 is about as low as you want to go.. for fwd app, i would start at 19 psi and work my way down. Seems to me you are having a hard time heating them up and that is definitely something you got to work out on that car. With a good heat cycle, 20 secs, you should see a min of 1.8 60s. The weather here was quite shitty, have much wind out there?

Dude running a bt as oppose to a stock turbo feels very different not to mention you're adding slicks to the equation for the first time, so dont feel bad man, im sure with a few more runs you'll nail it!!


Post your logs so we can see if there was any mechanical issues in the mix.

the track was dead cold..... julio couldnt better 2.2 to 2.3 60ft on drag radials.... so considering my second run on slicks in a fwd 2.0 i am actually happy about..... my burnouts were good, the 3rd was just cuz i made the mistake of trusting the piece of dogshit faggot that tells u to hold it at the water.

our water box is no more than about a foot long , so if this dickhead places u after the puddle u start the burnout and u immediately pull forward.... i should have done what anthony always tells me to do which is back up after he tells u to stop.

1st gear burnouts were perfect and didnt beat the clutch..... as far as pressures and launches well, take practice and trial and error..... the 2.0 came from a 13psi slick and 37oo rpm launch..... the 11psi and 4300 launch was botched by the no burnout.

none of this means dick though because trap dont lie...and my shit isnt trapping crap which means its slow....

traps also don't tell the whole story. don't beat yourself up just yet. I'm no racer, but if you can't shift 2-3 worth a shit, your trap is going to suffer.

keep your fat chin up and learn yourself how to shift. might wanna figure out that knock issue too while you're at it...

ever since the act clutch went in i havent been able to powershit the 2-3 ..... but i didnt either last time with ko4... so only varialbles from last month vs today were slicks vs dr and ko4 vs bt

same traps both days. fail fail fail

ill be doing some shit about this behind closed doors and if and when some results happen ill share the progress. yeah datalogs show this and that but to me trap speed tells the truth.

The launch in the 1st vid looked nice and clean. What RPM are you shifting at? Car seems to lose some steam in the second half of the track where the larger turbo should really shine.

hahaha thats called me missing 4th gear man....yeah it lost steam alright...LOL

i am trying to shift close to 6800-6900 the tune as is makes more power at highest rpm

truthfully this is another learning experience. if i break shit down here is what i went home with


a) slicks slicks slicks on fwd. nailing a 2.0 60ft with a slick that should give up 1.8s is decent considering the track I am at.

b) shifting points need to be determined by examining all the data... unfortunately i get so few passes that its hard to just work on one parameter. in the past where I found success was always to concentrate on one thing individually , but with 3 passes once or twice a month I get anxious and try to do too much.

c) without expediting 2-3 shift i will be a couple of mph lower always..... I practiced just right now at midnight and got a quick enough shift and part throttle lift between 2-3 that I was able to log 7lbs of boost still held between 2nd and 3rd.... so a few more nights an I should be able to get the 2-3 to the point I can hold 15+ boost and stay at speed rather than bog down.

d) i may need a protune....or i may have to accept that BT will only do so much for me and my tired motor.


anyways, i slept one hour or so last night so technically i have been up for about 36 hrs , im beat/

I know how you're feeling man... I slept 3 hrs last night cuz I tried to make it to the track by 9 to do breakdown81's filming lol.. You know how much an old man like me needs ma sleep nikka!

that my sir is a completely false statement and someone should delete it before fail happens to everyone that reads it.LOL

I have 15 years of drag racing experience in a fwd and three import track championships and Im here to tell you that slicks are worthless at 19psi. The thread compound is only half the battle when it comes to slicks. The true key to slicks is the sidewall. Thats why radials with the same compound as slicks just dont get the job done. the sidewall is to stiff even at low psi.

Let me break it down for you with this general rule for slicks on fwd only.
If you wanna see 2.0 60fts run 16-18psi
If you wanna see 1.9 60fts run 14-16psi
If you wanna see 1.8 60fts run 12-14psi
If you wanna see 1.7 60fts run 11-12psi
If you wanna see 1.6 60fts run 10-11psi.

Now remember these are rough numbers but very very close. Ive came up with these numbers after many years of racing different fwd cars ranging from 200-500whp. Examples from, type r integra, srt-4, ms-3, many hondas and a few others. I used these numbers as a base on all these cars. The lower the pressure the lower the 60ft., and on top of that the lower the pressure the lower the shock factor to drivetrain and thus less broken parts. Until someone else can match the 60fts and consistancy that Ive ran on both my last two high whp fwd cars, your opinion is just an opinion. Mine is based of proven success and that my friend is the facts. Buy yourself some!!! LOL

I dont want to jump the gun on "the sky is falling".....

here are some facts.

1) the track u see on the videos is an extremely slow track 5.0s trap 106-108mph..new m3 yesterday was at 105mph.... we saw 5 srt4 calibers one trapped 104 and the rest 100-101 ....so I naturally lose a couple of mph on that alone.

2) dont forget i outweigh JCMS07 (julio...in the other silver car) by 275lbs at least ....no joke

3) while i know that Julios car isnt like top notch fast like u guys its no slouch either and he does powershift through the gears

4) i seem to suck pretty bad at all these variables put together.... slicks+BT+ACT = i am making a mess of things. i havent been able to practice what rpm is best to shift at , how long to stay in each gear etc etc....

5) the car i know is making way more power than b4 ..... the traps being identical is only a reflection of my inability to adapt to the new set up........but believe me i will try to improve on it.


lastly..... im going to bakersfield (fomoso) because i am sick and tired of busting my ass to make this car show some stuff and get owned by a track that isnt prepped, is uphill and has a staff of fucken faggots that act like they are doing u a favor for taking your $20 ......

its funny because we were joking about "car and driver" magazine does some testing on this track but they do it from the finish line to the start (backwards) cuz then its downhill hahahah

fuck fontana. I am still in the process of tuning and adding timing with the help of a couple of you guys to maximize what I have. hopefully with upping the meth nozzle to a do7 I can run that timing and have a decent runner.

by no means be discouraged in my fail..... im super glad i put this turbo on...car pulls way stronger, i just need to bring it all together.

yes....i made some preliminary logs and they show promise... I dont want to post them because they were done close to noon rather than midnight (like all of my previous logs) and also boost was off by 1.5 to 2lbs (just so i could establish safety)

now that its safe enough to beat on I will set the mbc to 22psi and try to see how the car logs tonight at midnight and i will post results.....

thanks for the help anthony yesterday at the track with all the launching tips and the rest. i was super stoked at the 2.0 60ft only on my second try at a shitty track.....im gonna nail this no matter how long it takes

alright do7 went on.... car feels torquier now kinda like when we added the fuel pump...

anyways im gonna log tonight and see how it behaves...i did a couple of pulls and they felt good but there was up to 2 kr....

alright, switched nozzles to a do7 .... pure meth.

went out logging tonight, we have changed certain things , this is a different map...different maf calibration ... timing is added across, gets up to 13 degrees by 6500....
car feels like it has more midrange and torque...boost is at 20.3 psi or so.... I need to change the throttle tables to not start closing until 23.5psi but aarons ATR took a dump... so anyone that can help me out so I can test full 22psi would be appreciated.

it shows some KR... not horrible but there, i ran out of pure meth but i do have a 60-40 or so batch (5 gallons) and I am gonna use it to see if the mixture can let me combat KR better than meth alone.

Well, it could have been worse. During the short time I was there 3 cars had problems. The first being a blown engine.

I noticed a couple cars ran with every group.
