Mine wasnt hooked to my intake when it happend. I think I will reconnect it and see what happens. hopefully I have no more issues. I to put a very light spring on my dipstick and no more issues. I just went to o reilys and bought an assortment pack and went with the lightest spring they had. Just enough to barely hold it in. Once the o ring has oil on it, it pushed out so easily. Itll still push up if it needed to so Im not worried. I also just bought a cc to put between my pcv and the intake mani and hope that helps with collecting that little bit of oil that gets by. I think Im also gonna put the ptp check valve in there to help. It works killer on the srt so Im hoping for the same results.

Looks like we derailed Lenny's thread . Anyway, maybe I'll add a catch can between my VC vent and intake...another CC vent might be a good idea, though.

lennys turbo is done. discuss away guys.

i have a cc between vc and the sri and i pulled green shit out of it the other day... mix of water oil and gas smelled like.

so my turbo stays clean.

Well I'm not sure how much of a vacuum an upgraded intake gets. It would be interesting for someone to hook a vac gauge and see. Scott (Silverdemon) did a lot of experimenting with the pcv system. I'd go back and read it again but I'm happy with my setup

I helped Scott do a great deal of that testing - some of it on my car (which had blow by my piston rings at the time). What I'll say is that it's a 2 way system from stock and it needs to stay that way. Just tossing a filter on the valve cover input/output is a bad idea because it stops the normal flow that happens at idle and cruise. The system only works in the opposite direction (where lenny is catching the shit he is) under boost. Each time the flow changes direction it's got to pass through the series of small chambers on the under side of the vc, stepping down from one to the next. So if you are cruise/idle it follows the path of the timing chain and out the pcv valve into the im. If any of the components here like the chambers, the pcv valves or the line to the im get shitty obviously things don't work like they are supposed to.
The most important things to keep in mind if you plan to put an occ on the bottom side are to use high quality lines that can't possibly collapse - dash 10 & to use a strong check valve (because the stock pcv leaks). I like this one:Moroso 97800 Moroso Crankcase Evacuation System

subaru's run a valve cover breather like ours, but T the crankcase with a check valve such that when in vacuum... IM sucks air in from the VC (like ours). And when in boost, the crank case vents to the TIP in conjunction with the VC (not like ours).

I'd like to see someone try a setup similar to this.

does anyone know if using a mbc on my bt, do i need to hook the stock boost controller back up? not the vac lines, just plug it back into the car.

off the mani it will have steadier boost curve , off the compressor will have quicker response.

witht hat said..... i run a hallman pro rx mbc.... i tapped the coupler right off the turbo and look at my boost on my dyno..... pretty damn flat.

so for me.... compressor > mani

you'll get alot of argument on where but I am with Lenny....as close to compressor as possible.


Dustin, WTF is the difference between a PCV and a check valve? Aren't they the same thing.

PCV is similar, except it regulates (restricts) flow when open... like a coffee straw. It only lets so much air come out of the crankcase.


Like how PTP used a pill in the VC to increase vacuum in the CC and help with turbo smoke... one could have simply swapped to a higher flowing PCV and possibly achieved the same thing.

added more holes to the baffle for better airflow out of the VC.






then you add a 100 PSI CHECKVALVE inline with your OCC.

the stock PCV valve has been proven by scott to let in between 5 and 10 psi of boost into the crankcase. hmmm last time i checked the CC is supposed to be vacuum 100% of the time. before i added this CV i was popping my dipstick almost every day. since ive had it i have yet to have one occurrence of a blown dipstick. not even a little bit popped out but always snug in there.

ya the parts r in my sig i wanna get like 380ish hp and like mayb 400ftlbs but i dont wanna run over 21psi and ive changed my oil religiously before 3k miles with rotella t6 or some sort of high end synthetic but only use rotella now.

well it doesent look like you have an OCC or egr block off, these are very important along with meth and other cure-all's.

and your not going to make 380 on 21psi esp @ your altitude.

also get rid of that POS HT flash before you really blow your motor. nothing good can come from that device.

I am at 44K...put the 28 on at 35k...lovin it!

with the proper tune the BT is safer than a maxed out, flame throwing, WMI band-aided K04 any day LOL

i know im gettin AP as we speak.... i thought this was going to be my DD so thts y i got it but i found out im makin this my weekend warrior so BT and ill have time to tune. OCC shoulda been on there jst forgot to put it on there and EGR i know about jst not enough about. also i am not at tht altitude ne more im in germany which my altitude is about 1500ft above sea lvl i think.

it would save me a lot of money too dano^ like 3-4k so im thinkin of jst saying fuck it and doin it...

with the knowledge on here we can get you tuned right up....get you a 3071 at least. Anyway all ya gotta do is keep the torque at bay down low and let her rip. * knocks on wood*
