i blocked off my stock PCV box on the block and drilled and tapped my VC.




added more holes to the baffle for better airflow out of the VC.






then you add a 100 PSI CHECKVALVE inline with your OCC.

the stock PCV valve has been proven by scott to let in between 5 and 10 psi of boost into the crankcase. hmmm last time i checked the CC is supposed to be vacuum 100% of the time. before i added this CV i was popping my dipstick almost every day. since ive had it i have yet to have one occurrence of a blown dipstick. not even a little bit popped out but always snug in there.

This is great. This is my next mod. So You just capped the pcv on the block and did this? I wonder if a pcv off an srt would work, paired with a ptp check valve. I have both laying around.

i replaced the whole black PCV box on the block with a metal plate and RTV

Yeah, i know how ours works lol. The subie's end up with 2 evacuation ports while under boost instead of 1 like us (just the valve cover). With a setup like theirs, the pressure doesn't have to travel anywhere, i just blows out the CC port.

seems to me you want to evac direct from the CC port and not wait till it works its way to the VC but what do I know.

edit: maybe less particulate if you wait to vent in the VC?

the crankcase gets pressurized , once u allow a spot of relief it doesnt matter too much if its at the bottom , top or middle.... the relief will help move shit along. my only experience in this is running 13:1 compression motors and running dual evacs one in each valve cover to each header collector and it always worked like a charm, fuckers that tried without always had front or rear main seal leaks.....

its hard to say how much more pressurized the crankcase of a turbo car is compared to a high compression NA motorbut regardless if there is an outlet the pressurized gas moves naturally to the less pressurized spot, so VC vents and evacs should do nicely

i think the only benefit to drawing from below the pistons is the unburnt fuel gets drawn out before it mixes with the oil just my .02

did cosworth or someone make pcv block off plates? i vaguely remember something of the sort - or did you just fab your own?

i think i'm going to try the mann provent setup for vc->intake

ok VC it is...plus it looks way cooler having the Russell ano fittings up top...i think I'll go SS lines on my system if/when I ever do it LOL

could even get away with the knock-off SS hose covers for that application.

I actually like trying to use the venturi effect Lenny and spnkr mentioned off the DP...always something else to do the the car....where does it end?

in either case this should totally prevent any gunk buildup in the IM and head. Right?

im too lazy to take the IM off the car....i wanna do more shit but fuck i wanna chill for a while.

most of my efforts now will be concentrated on making the car stick and go quick in the 1/4

i am...mostly. but u know the pcv shit this and that,..... then of course if i take the fucken IM off to re do pcv might as well clean it up and take a looksy inside the intake runners of the head etc etc... then might as well get a thermal spacer lol
