technically if the bracket top is to remain horizontal yes it is important to ensure that the slots are equal in vertical dimensions unless u want it to get cockeyed and eventually snap one of the bolts holding it

as far as the zip tie..it is high temp steel and is what is used on all headers I have used over the years.... technically I could have added a hole along the backside of the bracket and used another tie through it and the original bolt hole (that was for the ko4 mount) to keep the wrap from sliding out.

u also have to consider that the height of the bracket was an estimation and i can close the gap by either adding more padding (which i dont want to do) or use bushings sliced in half as basically spacers in the slots to achieve the perfect snug height....

remember that me tightening on the bracket can achieve only so much sturdiness since i am not going to be able to crank down them bolts to 100ft lbs tq

as far as the the edges...they are fine...im not going for pretty..just functional...after all this is just a ford in disguise.

im not drilling the housing.... not on the turtle part of it.... i mean u could i guess attach a bracket to the dp studs closest to the firewall between the dp flange and the nut....

but i aint doing that....

my bracket is good enough for me.....

or maybe just tack the bracket to the housing hahahahahahah...hmmmmm.... hahahhaah....hmmmmmm

I think if you did want to over do it even more you would be best served to go from the OEM bracket to a DP stud as lenny indicated but you would need a longer stud.
