Guys. I have been following this thread. Great options for a replacement of the current turbo.

Could anybody please point me in the right directions on how to replace the stock turbo? I haven't been able to find these instructions and my turbo is leaking oil pretty badly at only 74K miles!!

Thanks in advance.

I wish I had the funds to go with a better turbo but at this time, I will swap it with a low mileage 25K stock turbo. I know the turbo "sucks" but it will get me going... it's my daily driver. Really appreciate your help. Your build is plain awesome! !

Ok, got the motor in.

I ended up cracking my original head pulling my motor out ( yes I will openly tell about my fail). It wasn't my fault 100%, but I should have known better. So my old head will not be a usable core.

Good news is that I experienced zero fail putting my new motor back in. It started right up and all I had to do is prime the cooling system. Took like 2 days for this whole project from start to finish. I ended up changing a lot of pumps and gaskets; basically blew all my money on new stuff. I rebuilt my power steering pump and then my ac clutch. Both of these parts failed a few days after my swap, and I don't know why.

I am still on my break in tune and it hits about 17psi. Motor has 1,200 miles on it too. Hopefully I can get my car tuned before July 25th so I can hit the track.

My compression is good too!

1-175
2-180
3-174
4-183

I am running Manley pistons and they were really weird watching them seat. Compression was all over the place for the first 50-300 miles.

Pictures attached.

Update: According to VD the car makes around +/-340 whp (my front mount is really holding me back). Anyways, had a few track days and my last pass (last friday) was a 12.4 @111.64 (best trap was 113). The time could have been a lot better, but I was running into traction issues and should've thought about why more (its my fault!). I need to work on my 1/8 mile times badly. I am off to college now and will winterize and store the car tomorrow before I leave.

I have run into a compression issue but I am pretty sure its the injector seals. So the story is that I checked over compression a while ago and everything was about 180 across the board, expect for cylinder 1, it was 160psi. So I proceeded with a leak down test and found out my injector seal was leaking by spraying soapy water around the area and it bubbled. I reused my cpe safeseals and thought it would work for the time being. I parked the car in my driveway and tried my hardest not to drive it until my new Safeseals came in. I installed the new seals and took her for a drive and did another compression test. Now it reads 155psi across all four cylinders. I don't have time to screw around with the car right now, but when I get back I will try what Will said which is put some RTV around the seals and head. That will probably work the best. This whole situation is weird, and Will said I shouldn't worry about it because all the numbers are the same.

I also sent my injectors off to get cleaned for peace of mind purposes.

I also have a cold start misfire problem and I am getting close to finding out where that is coming from. But I am about to leave, so not enough time to do more diagnosis (either a coil or a wire in the loom).

I also sent my compression gauge to Pablo for testing. Shout to Pablo for helping me through this all !

Update: Upgraded to a 5858 (Journal Bearing) with the CPE Precision V-band manifold, and Kosmic DP and dumptube. Also slapped on a TR1045 and probably other stuff I am forgetting. Im still running the stock intake manifold which limits me really to 1 methanol nozzle, according to my tuner. Running pump gas and a d014 methanol nozzle (biggest Devils own makes) I ran out of injector at about 28psi making near 440whp 380wtq PD tuned. I am still running pump gas only (90 oct) which people actual have done test and rate it still at about 87 oct. and straight denatured alcohol.

Pretty impressive numbers still haha!

I have a JMF IM and HTP 4.0" intake sitting in my room ready for install.

I also need to pull my engine out just to reseal my transmission. I will also delete my AC because I am having problems with the AC clutch AGAIN! While doing all that work, I will install my JMF and HTP 4.0" and try to get a retune started before I head off to college again. I plan on running dual d010's, dual d012's or dual d014's
