Bullseye Billet S259 build (soon to be double Batmowheel S366)

Finally up and running. Things went much smoother at first startup then expected with the large throttle body. Still have some tuning work to do, break in (500 miles of babying it, then another 500 miles of a conservative tune.) After that it will make the trip to Portland for Tim to work his magic on it for a race gas tune. Once we know everything works well and nothing else needs to be tweaked, we pull everything off for cleanup and powder coating. Some pictures of the swap and semi-finished product:










Intercooler:

Water Over Air set up with 800HP core, custom 3” intercooler piping, 12 x 12 x 2 heat exchanger, tank has been welded into the front crash beam of the car. It supports 1.2gallons of fluid, custom brackets for heat exchanger and intercooler core. Bosch “Cobra” pump all pushing through ¾ inch silicone hose.

Custom tubular manifold with T3 flange, running BW S259 billet wheel on a .70 exhaust housing. 45mm TurboSmart WG running 16 psi spring, 2” dump tube dumped under car at back side of downpipe. Custom downpipe and oil lines. You can hear the turbo spool starting at around 2500 RPM (currently at16 psi).

Intake Manifold:

Custom tube intake manifold, flow tested at 290 + CFM per runner at 28 inches. 72mm t-body that is plug and play (just needs to be wired in), custom t-body spacer, direct port injection meth with four M4 nozzles. We installed the MAP/BAT sensor in the end of the manifold where the PCV is located, this way we can get the highest and safest temperatures for tuning purposes. Custom PCV evac system, PCV goes into intake manifold and the front block plate now has a bung installed to run a hose to the exhaust system that has a low crack pressure evac valve on it. This way we have vacuum under boost and idle/low throttle applications, vacuum all the time in the motor for proper oil control.

Cylinder Head:

CNC’ed combustion chambers and exhaust ports. Gasket matched intake runners with a thermal gasket runner matched also. Flow testedat 255CFM at 28 inches intake side, exhaust side TBA. Custom camshafts, upgraded VVT actuator, all the valves have been “mirror” polished and radius cut. Current combination of piston and combustion chamber volume give us a 8.95 to 1 compression ratio.



Engine:

Forged pistons, forged rods, coated OEM bearings, block filled with “block crete”, balanced and blue printed, crank has been “strapped”, ARP custom main studs and head studs (extra large nuts and washers), 5 layer head gasket, balance shaft delete, windage tray, custom oiling modifications to chain tensioner to support high RPM use.

Clutch/Drivetrain:

Custom Feramic disk with billet flywheel, high sprung pressure plate, supports 600 + WTQ and 750 + WHP. Stock trans and axles for now.



Fuel system:

Stage 2 fuel pump, PRV (performance rail valve), upgraded injector seals, upgraded injector studs, nuts and washers. We have yet to see under 1900 psi under WOT conditions.


Tuning:

Cobb AP, 3 bar map sensor, Tuning (race gas) Tim at SurgeLine (to come after break in)

Other items to mention:

Custom P/S line (to clear the intake plenum)

3” custom intake with heat shield

Custom battery box with slim battery.

I was concerned with spool time. As early as the S259 is spooling I kind of wish now I had gone with one of the bigger S's with the new batmowheel inducers and compressor housings.

What RPM are you seeing full boost at? I know it's only 16psi but that should give you a decent idea of how it will look.

If what you're saying is true then the S362ETT is definitely what I want then.

Haven't been in boost much at all yet. The lowest logged instance I have is about 3900 RPM, but I have seen as much as 400 RPM lower then that so around 3500 RPM. I will definitely get some logs up once it hits 500 miles and we start playing with a conservative boost tune.

Looks great man, just a couple questions. Where is your intake and MAF? And you said your going to make the trip to surgeline for tim to tune your car, where are you located. There are a few of us near portland that meet up quite a bit.

Intake piping runs along the top of the transmission and then takes a 90 degree bend into the CPe XcelXL and filter. Turns out this location is too hot for the intake air (we suspected it would be, common sense because it is right behind the radiator) so to avoid additional bends we are building a box to isolate the filter from the engine bay and a fan to move the air from the fender in front of the wheel to the filter.

Forgot to answer the last question. I am in the Seattle area. I am going to try to make it down to the August surgeline meet (just to show up, not to tune), but no guarantees of that yet. Would be a great way to get some of the break in miles on the car.

I really like the look of my setup, but for efficiency of routing kmac's is the way to go. I don't think I am losing a whole lot to what @kmac did though.

Cylinder chambers are dished. A donor head was cut to figure out the water cavities and then both the intake and exhaust runners were ported and polished to safest thickness to those water chamber. I know additional work was done as well, but can't remember off the top of my head.
