Custom yes, doesn't have to be one off though. I am not 100% sure on the flywheel weight, I can say it feels good though... not temperamental for daily driving at all. Will get the actual weight of the flywheel later today. It also required a spacer on the end of the slave piston (between the piston and the fork) because it is thinner than stock. It is also larger radius but does clear the bell housing with no interference.

Time to start giving it some mild boost. Trip A is since the engine went in.

I love the water/air IC setup and direct port w/m setup on the Intake Manifold!
What sort of temps are you seeing?
Are you able to reach sub ambient temps?

Right now our temps are high because the intake air temps are high. Either this weekend or next we are going to build a box for the filter so it pulls its air from the fender in front of the wheel instead of the engine bay. With intake air temps at around 125-130 (way too high) we are seeing boosted air temps starting around 100 and climbing to about 108 after several long pulls in rapid succession. Also, that is just on 100% water for now. After we pull it apart to clean and powder coat it we plan to put fluid in meant for w/a applications.

Also, we haven't started upping the boost yet, but have started working on fuel and timing. The car pulls hard on 16 pounds of boost all the way to 7200, which is where we have the red line set for now.

On your IM did they use the OEM flange and 2" of the runners and then just weld a extra piece between it and the plenum?

Correct. He recut one of the PTFE spacers to match the head porting and then ported the stock flange/runners to blend to the transition of the spacer into the head. Then welded the extra piece to get the angle he wanted and ported to blend with the existing runner.

Got the air box made today. On the test runs, with the car moving the IAT's were within 10 of ambient. Best I saw was 87 IAT with an ambient of 81. With the car stopped temps rise, but fall almost instantly when the car starts moving again.

A water/air I/C can't drop you below ambient. Think about it...the ambient air is hitting the heat exchanger, which transfers the heat of the water to the air....where in that system can the water be cooled to below the temperature of the air hitting it? You'd need to put a bunch of ice in your reservoir to drop below ambient.

What he said....

Maybe you may want to consider spraying the heat exchanger with nitrous....

Just a thought.

the reason you not seeing the drop in temp when you start spraying meth is your sensor is not seeing the temp drop, see i spray in the cold pipe and see 30 deg, your not going to get that, cause of it spraying after the sensor!

so your timing will stay as if it is hot along with every thing else

when in reality it is much cooler

Yes, we understand that. Some people like the safety of meth vs. the power of meth.

Considering that they're going to be using meth and e85 for their "race gas" tune, I think they're using it for power more than safety

Don't remember saying below ambient anywhere, though we are going to target below ambient on the race gas tune by putting ice in the reservoir. He wanted a CO2 setup to spray the heat exchanger, but below ambient wasn't important enough for me to spend the money on that.

Also, fwiw yesterday we let it sit and idle for close to 30 minutes to see what the intake air temps would do. This heat soaked the fluid for the W/A and I did not drive a sufficient distance to cool it. On previous tests at 80 degrees ambient we were seeing IAT of around 130 and boosted temps of about 25 less then that at around 105. Yesterdays pulls, my boosted air temps were about 125 when I pulled away from the shop, in the time I drove 3 miles to the freeway they had dropped to about 116 and then held there through my first pull... had dropped to about 108 by the time I got off the freeway 2 miles later and held that for my second pull getting back on the freeway. I think if we had not let the W/A heat soak the boosted air temps would have been about the same as the IAT

Will be running my daily driving tune way more then my track tune, so 90%+ of the time the meth will be for safety. In fact, right now I am just spraying water.

Track tune vs daily driver tune is soooo overrated. You need to have race car status 24/7

I was actually just spraying wtaer towards the end of the era of the 3076. It was for a different reason though... Leak in the meth tank = watching money drip out of your life

Not even close to what I will have for a daily driver tune yet and already traction issues in 2nd in 3rd. Boost tables and WG tables are zeroed with a 16 psi spring in the wastegate. So running 16 PSI. Not tires smoking not going anywhere traction issues yet, but leave 2 long black lines when I floor it in second. I will say that it is much more pleasant then K04 tire hopping traction issues.

Would probably more aggressive with a daily driver tune as well if I didn't drive my daughter around in the car, as it is I will be trying for something around 425.

You just need better tires. That's a part of the fun man!

Call me crazy, but I'm 99.9% positive someone's post got deleted. Someone said "Hey, why aren't you dropping below ambient?" so I replied to that.

What I am confused about is the talk about the meth system being extra fueling. Lets say the stock fuel system can stretch to 500whp (just for shits and giggles i am just making up a limit). Having the meth setup with 4 m4 nozzles - is about 300ml/min x 4 = 1200ml/min. That is a decent size / amount of meth BUT irregardless - meth has such low energy it is a horrible idea to use it for additional fueling. Meth is used for cooling and octane boost. I've setup people with dual m10 nozzles, dual 1mm nozzles (pwm meth kits not standard on/off), etc. that flow a ton more meth. Meth is not a good additional fuel source. You'd be better off with a meth nozzle or two pre-throttle body giving better atomization to promote better cooling, running a 50/50 mix to keep cylinder temps down as well, and putting a few 150-220cc PI injectors in controlled with a standard fuel controller to work in the upper rpms when you run out of fuel (if you plan on pushing it this far). If you came in here and said I did this because of this and this is why it will be baller...I'd applaud. But I don't see the point of what was done here I guess. It looks like a conglomeration of shadetree made parts and lots of money spent without real purpose. I do applaud you on doing something different.

What sort of temps are you seeing?
Are you able to reach sub ambient temps?
Ah, here it is.

If I wasn't able to view the post you deleted, I may actually have thought this was constructive criticism. You can pat yourself on the back now, another job well done.

"Conglomeration of shadetree made parts." That's a good one.

I see what u r saying about the fuel , but I don't see any shade tree parts . I think it looks good and if u don't like it It's one thing , but don't give back handed compliments .

More exhaust volume for teh huge turboz, cooler charge temps, no need for WMI... Even if you ran E50 you should be able to do crazy shits.
