(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So you're running a 1.7 bar spring then? Since they're only like $20 or so, I figured I'd replace that for a 1.8 to 2.0 bar spring, upgrade my stock map for a 3-bar, and swap the skimpy CPE fmic for the TR10 custom set up, and run a healthy 26 psi, with my Meth BCS FS cutting me to about 13 PSI just in case. How does your single scroll ass like them apples? You better go GT35+ +NOS nigga! haha For the record, when I saw Skates a few weeks ago for the CPE inj seals.... just after the install I asked if he wanted to take her for a spin. His wise-ass reply: "I don't want to drive a slow-ass MS6," lol. I told him to enjoy the jabs....... while he still can

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score 1.7 bar spring is great... the ebcs will produce plenty of boost with that . Hell, I look forward to the 22-23 psi the smaller spring will hold for starters.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I was never planning on spring as it would make my meth bcs fs pretty useless, lol. BSD tomorrow! I hooked up a couple 5 qt jugs of Mobile 1 yesterday. Looking forward to getting that contraption off my car!! We also had a local Nator meet today, and had a blast.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Got the BSD done today with James' help (thanks again bro!) and it was cake. Not sure what these 'vibs' some people complained about, but I have none. I had James take it for a spin, but he was more consumed w/ the tsb clutch vs the non to notice, haha. I drove home like ~30 miles trying to find the vibs, and I honestly couldn't tell. If anything, it seems a little smoother at 70-80mph than before. Who knows.... all I know is I strongly recommend that people do this. It took a little over 7 quarts to fill her back up. I only snapped a couple pics: Dirty pan.... I cleaned it up real nice and used some brake cleaner on it too. Forgot to get a clean pic w/ the baffle installed, but the gpwerks one (pics above somewhere) worked great, and went on without much trouble at all. EDIT: Pics of the 19lb Monster that's robbing you of oil flow: Just to make things easier to get at (plus he has air tools), James took off the front right tire to access the 4 8mm bolts on the passenger side: And I'm damn glad he did, because the numb nuts that installed my SPC ball joints ages ago (and backwards, after I told him to watch the orientation) forgot to put the bolt back the holds my brake line in! FAIL. We didn't have anything handy, so I just slapped a couple zip ties on there until I get to the hardware store. That's all! Now she's fully prepped, and just waiting for DJ's goodies to arrive and the list of misc stuff I need to get. Glad all the bs stuff (egr del, bsd, seals) are all done!!!

Top mount turbo setups So pass the thanks on to Dustin & Leen SteedSpeed for making it happen. Dustin was the force, and Leen Steed (cool English chap) makes the sickest mani's around, and the clincher for me was that they are bullet proof, and no fabbing up braces for the turbo BS, or welding your cracked mani. Whether you go top mount or not, SteedSpeed is where it's at.... not cheap by any means, but you get what you pay for. Not worrying about cracks or shitty coating for an extra $200-$250? I'll take one please. And I'm a broke, unemployed fuck. Plus, you'll save that on medical bills... what are knee replacements going for these days? lol EDIT: Dustin (djuosnteisn) makes a custom DP & one piece SRI/TIP to work with this set up. Contact him for pricing & details. Pics of said mani in post #26 for your viewing pleasure.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score OKAY, I think I made up my mind about the ewg that I've been mulling over for almost a month now. Thanks to DJ and everyone for all the input. I'm just going to run a 1.5 bar ~21PSI spring at first, and just run spring pressure. It will make things simpler for me, and be able to get her up and running very soon after the install. This will eliminate the need to tune wgdc, bd, and a bunch of other shit. I should just be able to calibrate the maf, my wot afrs, and then timing. I also plan on just running 100% h20 through the meth kit at first. Pros: -Can have her tuned in a couple of days, and not worry about excessive wgdc, BD, boost tuning, etc. -Get to enjoy BT right away, and get back to the books (this is a major factor) -Second 1.0 bar spring is like $25 or something -I'd be cool to dyno this way and then w/ the other set up to compare power while still using the stock map sensor, and compare spool as well. 3 bar map not until next year. Cons: -Slower spool... kinda defeats purpose of TS76 -Can't use my meth BCS FS.... I'll already be running spring pressure, so if it fails... no good. That's why I want to just run 100% water at first to help combat any KR, but I'm not going to go nuts w timing -Much lost power w/out meth + timing, and intake runners already look like poop. Goods news is this will just be temporary. After I sell all the crap that's on my car, I can use that loot towards a pro-tune w/ two maps. However, I may use the loot for a custom TR10 fmic set up, and then recoup that when I sell the CPE fmic. I do have serious studies ahead of me though, so that may have to wait until after the exams. I want one map for meth and one non-meth (have toggle switch to shut her off). I plan on running a .9 or 1.0 bar spring later (12.5-14psi), and tuning everything properly. I'll have much faster spool, and can run more timing + leaner afrs w/ meth. I can use the meth bcs FS to trip me to 12.5 or 14 PSI spring, and I think the .9 spring should be fine to max out the stock map sensor. Even though I'll be missing out on a good amount of power at first by doing this, I'm sure I'll be more than content with the power in the meantime over the K04. That, and I'm an impatient bastard, and need this done so I can get back to business!

Pics of ATP stuff too I ordered the following misc parts from ATP turbo needed for the BT install last night. DJ does the oil lines so I don't have to worry about fabbing shit up. I know the pipes on the CPE kit are 2.25", but I'm not sure about the one on the hot pipe. I'll have to check it before I order. Air filter 4" to 3.5" reducer for the DJ Intake Jegg's Thread Sealant -------------------------------------------- So I almost have everything, and I should have the rest by the time the intake and DP arrive. I may also replace all my cpe fmic couplers, and buy all new high temp vac hose and replace all my lines during the install. I guess I could order those now and get them swapped out before the install. I've had some bs leaks at hoses here and there, and thought this would be a good opportunity to minimize the chance of a leak, esp w/ the higher boost I'll be running. I'll update w/ pics when some more stuff arrives. Getting closer!!

FUCKING <3 JOEL SO DAMN MUCH. Big thanks to him for compilation of a list.
You can get em at any auto store usually. You have to drill out the hole slightly to get it on the valve cover breather. Cost like $5.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score It looks like we'll be just chopping the cpe hot pipe to make it work. Having a custom pipe bent isn't worth the $$ and from the measurements Joel sent me (thanks again!) it looks like it'll work NP. So that mystery is solved.. it's been bugging the shit out of me. I'll be ordering the last few parts shortly. I'm still waiting on the stuff from ATP to show up..... I thought it would be here by today as it's been 5 days. I'll ring them in the morning to check. I didn't 'create an account' when I placed the order (wish I had), so I don't have any tracking info either :/

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score UPDATE: Install 28th!!!!! I ordered the Tial 38mm MVS ewg (silver) from SU Mark (thanks again!), the 2"-2.25" reducer for the outlet, the 4"-3.5" reducer for the intake, and my ATP order is on the Fedex Truck 'out for delivery.' . Good news on the Tial... they now come with the entire set of springs for the same price! I'll take pics of the stuff later when it arrives. All I need now is: -Intake (there's a local Amsoil dealer... trying to get thru to see if it's in stock) -Longer recirc hose (I have some extra from OCC install...not 100% if it's the right size. Pretty sure it's too small. Gonna dig that up from storage and check on my HKS later today). -Filter for breather tube + clamp (getting that local in ME) -Base Map -*2-step colder plugs. Joel just told me he ate through 1 steps pretty quick. I may have to fart around on 1 steps for a couple weeks until I have some more loot. Thanks for the heads up buddy The only hiccup I see is with my big ass battery. When the stocker died one night, I had to be somewhere in the morning, so I had to grab one at Sears. It sits a good 1" taller than the stocker or the optima. Judging by this pic of Joels TS top mount: I don't think there's any extra room to clear the battery (thanks for pics Joel... & saving my ass). I actually have a brand new Oddysey lightweight battery that a buddy gave me a year ago. It's been sitting for over 1.5 years though. I'm gonna grab that outta storage, and have it tested + charged. I don't want to run that here (winter, etc..) but if it's still good, I'm gonna make due with that until I sell some of the stuff that's coming off my car, buy a red top that fits, and then sell the Odyssey. It doesn't have those pole thingys tho, so I'll have to get me some. I may be able to snag a battery before the 28th and just sell this one... we'll see. Also going up FS shortly: Coated DNP mani tapped for meth egt gauge (1/8th NPT)- Bought new in Nov... approx 4K miles Cobb SF- 1.5 years old (not 100% sure I can check) probably 8K miles (I don't drive much) 3" SU test pipe- 15 months ~6K miles SU recirc hose- 1,000,000 miles All miles are approx.... everything is in good condition. No offers/dibs in thread please.. I will update after install and start a FS thread shortly after that. Just thought I'd give a heads up. _____

And you'll actually need 1.25" I.D. hose. I can provide more links if you need, but all those same links probably have a 1.25" variant.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Fuck. Joel sent me a link to his battery, and it turns out mine is about 1.5" longer, but 1.75" shorter. My shit is all crammed up with just the Cobb tip + sf: He's running a different battery tray, and I assume he is able to slide it further back towards the firewall. As you can see in that pic, that is where I have my meth controller mounted, and I also have a 3-ring prong on the neg for my 5 w/m kit grounds. Sooo... even a new tray wouldn't let me move the battery back much.. maybe 1.5" but then it would be up against the controller. All those w/m wires, fs leds, + toggle are cut to 'just' the right length. It works perfect now, and I'd much rather not mess with it. My current battery is 6.75" wide x 7" tall x 10.75" long. Should I look for something like 8" long instead? No clue where to look... I bought that Sears Diehard that doesn't fit (thus the wood) because I was in a jam and had to be somewhere, so I didn't have time to look for a proper battery. I can try to test fit the intake when it arrives, but it doesn't look good! I also don't have much loot, so I don't want to spend more than $100-$150 tops. This sucks, but I'd rather sniff out fail in advance than on install day. Input appreciated!! EDIT: Joel sent me some pics of his, and it looks like I'll be fine if I just get the tray he's using, and move battery back 1". I can ditch one of the 3 prongs on the ring on the neg and solder a few of those wires together. That should just clear it. Phew!! I just bought that damn battery last fall, so I'm glad this should work + keep my meth kit in tact. Mad props to Hinkle for the dimensions + pics!!!!! (Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I ordered the new battery tray and tie down stuff, the Jeggs thread sealant, some ITV24s, and picked up the breather filter and a few feet of 1" ID radiator hose. So, I think that should be just about everything ![]() The Tial shipped, as well as the couplers, so once the rest of the stuff arrives, I post pics of everything. I'm SOOO psyched that everything thing will be en route soon. It was bugging the hell out of me knowing I was missing this, that, and the other thing. Had to borrow some loot for the last of the stuff, but I'm glad I did because now I can relax a bit. I'm psyched for the install!!! Still need: Base map, sticker, plates, & stuff from DJ that's coming soon
