lil update on this bish.

both fans are wired in with the 190* temp controller now. i still need to trace out the A/C signal. The only weird thing is that this sensor is coming on at 220* lol just like the stock one. We tried mounting the sensor near the head where the stock coolant sensor is. Then we tried near the radiator and same thing. Sensor always kicks on when my dashawk reads 219-220. Once the fans kick on temps drop to 190* with the car not moving in less than 1 minute. lol.

In the summer the coolant temps like to sit around 215ish so the fans wont turn on. I just dont like the constant heat, when my car was stock coolant would never go above 200, so the plan is to try and keep shit close to what it was when the car ran stock.

Next step is find a different 190* temp sensor that will come on at 205* max.

I think that A/C signal was talked about later in that thread you posted (that superskaterxes started).

IIRC, username po57 has a speed3 and was talking about the A/C signal.

I kind of have the same problem and I'll probably opt for the same solution (one more fan). However, I think that the stock heat shields in the first cat and turbo area were doing a pretty big deal in forcing the heat underneath the car.
If I'll mess with the downpipe again (I may want to change the cat in the DP) I will look into hooking back up as many of the stock heat shields as I can.

You have the derale kit? Mine fan turns on at 200 degrees via Dashhawk.

The extra wire for the AC signal can be used with a manual switch. I have a switch wired up and can turn on the fan manually before 200 degrees!

The mishimoto adapter I have, has the threads tapered down so I can only get about 3-4 threads of the sensor into the adapter. I didn't think this was a big deal since I have the sensor positioned around 4-5 o'clock so coolant should always be present. But as I think about it more maybe the aluminum adapter is transferring some of the heat and making the sensor come on a bit late. Like I said the sensor isn't thread to deep, its sunk in maybe 3/16".

I'm going to try tapping the adapted and getting the sensor in further.

Nah its def says 1/8 npt but there is no fucking way lol. I'm gonna tap the damn thing and call it a day. Hope that does the trick.

After finally getting my dual fans set up in order, I wanted to get the car ready for MNM. Last week I did a compression test and #1 and #2 were a bit lower than the others
#1 -165
#2 -160
#3 -170
#4 -170

Keep in mind I run 8.5:1 cp pistons. So first thing we think of is injector seals. Of course #1 and #2 are leaking. Fast forward a few days later the seals arrive from CPE and I pull the stock intake manifold. This is where shit gets interesting. Seal #1 and #2 are stuck in the head and #2 and #4 are stuck in the injector. Right away I get nervous. Having installed seals in the past with permatex #2 I knew this was going to likely be a downhill battle. Sure enough a 2 days later, lots of cursing and screaming I give up and tell Pablo.... Pablo fuck this bullshit lets pull the head and pop the seals out from the inside.

Well Thank goodness we decided to pull the head off. We found the head gasket was on its way out. More than likely it would have blown at MNM had I kept it together. Pablo compared my HG to Anthony's and it was failing in the exact same area. I've seen alot of HG and none ever bubble up or are marked with those ridges like we saw in Anthony's blown gasket. It seems like the gasket or the clamping force around #4 isnt being distributes as well as the other cylinders. IDk I'll leave that for the engineers to discuss. All I know is that we mistakenly saved my motor and new turbo.


As of right now the plan for my car is to get the head cut open around the intake ports and upgrade the fuel system to supply a shit load more fuel pressure for the 6th port system. This will be my stepping stone to full PI. After MNM I'm going to set up my stock manifold with individual injectors.
