Update:

After the dyno event, I wanted to inspect the motor for any wear or damage. I realized someone must have started my car while it was sitting at the shop this weekend, because my plugs had oil in them from cold start blow by. So i wont post pics of them but I can tell you the plugs were perfect aside from the oil on them lol. Compression was good, and I boroscoped the cylinders with one of SP63's toys (snap-on wireless boroscope). The cylinders had some oil in them as always. This bottom end had 22k on it. My rings have seen better days. Although i know the rings are doing a great job keeping compression under high boost. They do allow alot of blow by past the rings under warm up and under light loads (cruising). What i have noticed in the last 5k miles, is that the blow by is breaking loose carbon deposits around the rings and pistons and marking up the cylinder walls. I love my cylinder head and turbo way too much to take a risk.

Honestly after 3+ years of pushing this motor with DJ and now Nishan. I couldn't possibly expect anymore from this bottom end. Pablo has been working on a new bottom end for my car for a lil while now, since we knew this day was coming. I just don't feel comfortable pushing about 100+HP on a semi hurt bottom end.

So in CPE's famous words.........2 weeks.

Sorry if I havent answered some of your posts but doing this on a cell is hard enough lol.

So what compression is this new bottom end? Sticking to the low 8.5CR?

This would be a good opportunity to compare how these engines perform with high CR when all other things are kept equal.

That's way to fancy for me lol. All the bearings will be coated and the SP63 pistons I'll be using also come with coated skirts.

Sorry. Just the basic port job everyone does. I ported the TB side and the runners about 4" into the manifold. My pistons tops paint a perfect picture of how uneven the stock manifold flows even with my port work and having removed the Infamous acts hump. Having said that an even flowing manifold and cylinder head have helped me pick up a bunch of power. I think those 2 parts are a major component to making easy power.

Interesting that the two pistons that see the most air (and highest AFRs) look like they have the most carbon

That's exactly how it should be. For instance look at #4 the least flowing cylinder as we all know it. Looks super clean because of all the unburned fuel washing the dish. The opposite goes for #3 being the cylinder with the highest air/fuel mixture.

Aahh makes sense... my train of thought was more fuel = more carbon.

EGT data doesn't support that idea, though. The exhaust can influence cylinder filling greatly, as well.

Having said that an even flowing manifold and cylinder head have helped me pick up a bunch of power. I think those 2 parts are a major component to making easy power.
I wonder if cutting the IM runners out to match the head would have made any difference in flow and what your pistons/plugs/valves would look like with the 6th port.

My IM is cut to match the head and I'm seeing very very consistent looking pistons/plugs/valves right now, about 5k miles on the motor. I'm just wondering if I'm an oddity, or if anyone else has my IM/Head setup and is seeing similar results as I am.

It's a bit difficult to draw conclusions based on how the tops of pistons look and how plugs look. My plugs look identical for all 4 cylinders with an OEM head and IM.

And running meth correct?

I know there are a ton a variables and the bottom line is that the less variance you can get between cylinders, the better. I'm just wondering, without being able to flow bench a fully cut manifold like mine, if it has helped with the variance much, or if it's just an oddity and partially because I have very few miles on the motor still.
