Performance has to be defined somehow. You mean peak horsepower? Top end? The op must define what his priorities are and where tradeoffs can be made. There are always tradeoffs and it's important to choose the right ones for your needs.

Im waiting for cpe to finish their atmosphere kit and im going with GT3076. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they had 5858/6262/6266 as options as well.... In a perfect world i guess

Peak power is obviously much greater with the 6466, yes, but it's actually the smoothness of the power delivery, the fact that I lost very little (if any) response for street driving...and yes... the sound

Oh, and the atmosphere kit for those turbos would ONLY require them to make a slightly different downpipe for the precision turbos because they already offer a Precision Vband manifold and everything else would line up the same.

I'm confused. I've always been under the impression that dbb turbos could handle axial loads much better than journals. So why do you say they can't take as much abuse?

You can just piece it together, not difficult at all. I can send you all the specs on everything you need
Yea man that would be great!

I would rather compromise top end over spool. I'm not trying to set any records but I would like some nice headroom as well. Also it will be daily driven which is why I would like decent spool for around town.

I love my GTX3071, but I often get some crazy thoughts that I wish I had a GTX3576 or PTE5858 so as to not have my boost limited to ~25 PSI up top...

For my daily driver I am probably already at the ideal with the GTX3071 as it has awesome response and could easily make 500whp if I went catless, but the gearhead in me always wants more...

Having made that swap I can say one thing... don't lol, just go catless on your setup. Im amazed you're making as much power as you are with a cat though, I gained 3 psi with no changes to my tune going catless on my 3071 lol. I had a "fuck it, lets see what happens moment" after I did the swap and just did a 3rd gear hit lol. Wasn't ready for a 28 psi spike but damn it was exciting! haha

So why do you think "don't"? Just laggy and unresponsive in general or what?

Yeah, I am guessing that I am experiencing a crazy amount of backpressure with the catted DP, that is probably limiting the pressure ratio around the turbine limiting power input to the compressor...

I almost have the wife off my ass on other projects so maybe I can go catless in the spring...

The power was awesome, the power delivery was awesome, had it been my first turbo I would have been happy probably. I've always said I drive my car 95% of the time and race 5%, and the 35 is a 5% turbo. Under 3000 rpms its just a DOG, no matter how much throttle position or WGDC you throw at it, and there's no sense in driving around over 3k with a loud ass exhaust all the time.

I don't mean to talk down the 3576, its a badass turbo, but its just one that's hard to say I was happy with on a daily basis.

This is pretty much why I am thinking the GTX3071 is pretty much the ideal DD BT.

I mean I know I want more than 500whp, but I really don't need it in a DD. The tradeoffs start to be pretty painful above this point...

Alright so I am going to go with the journal bearing 5858 .82 ar vband in/out with the cpe exhaust manifold and 3" vband downpipe. I will make a build thread once everything starts coming together. Thanks guys!

Awesome man. Identical to my turbo setup for my build except I'm using a 6266. Love the dual vband in and out

Okay. I still have to look into that. I know ATP has a vband downpipe but I think $300 is a bit steep.

300 for a complete vband downpipe is a good deal. The only thing with the atp it's a garrett vbanded flange on there downpipes. The precision vband is different

Ah I didn't even catch that. Then definitely custom haha. Im guessing that I will have to bring the flange into the shop and they can weld it on. I thought there was a member on here who made a few downpipes for people.

This flange http://www.treadstoneperformance.com...+V+Band+Flange

I'll get more info when I get to a PC, but you can either go with a full custom down pipe or get a cheap eBay dp, then just have a new flange welded on. That way you don't have to mess with any of the bends and exhaust hangers like a full custom one.

Alright so I just got my 5858 in the mail and awaiting my cpe exhaust manifold, wastegate, and dump tube to be delivered.

One more question. How much difference would I see between a single injector 5th port vs a double injector 6th port (goal is +-550). Thats the last thing I need to order but there isn't a vast amount of info on it.

You will absolutely need 6th, not just the 5th. 6th port will get you very nesr to that 550 numbet.

Ok sounds good. And just for general knowledge what is a 5th port good for?

6th port will be plenty of fueling to make 550 you will have some fueling head room left over. After talking with the freek about my build he was confident a 6th port kit would make damn near 650whp.

You can also get the perm kit through edge with bigger injectors than the 1000cc you just have to ask and there will be a small upcharge as well.

And the 5th port is only 500hp? And are we talking with straight 93 or with an e85 mix?

Which also brings up another question. There are 2 main kits available, Perm and sp63. What are the main differences between the two that make the price vary so much? And what is the main consensus on the "favorite one"

The SP63 kit was based off of the Perm kit with a little tweak from what I've seen. The price different isnt huge between the 2 it's maybe 125 bucks. Sp says there kit is made to order and can take a month to receive. I got my perm kit within a week of ordering from Edge.

Holy shit $44.50 to ship from sp, must be shipped by unicorns. So now they are 4 dollars apart. Looks like I will go with perm for quickness lol. You haven't done the install yet have you?

No I haven't, waiting until my built motor goes in. It looks extremely simple. The hardest part will be having to drop the Tank to install the fuel pump

That 650 number is with the larger injectors. But I would say a standard 6th port would be enough for 600.

With the standard 6th port and 5gal corn mix the secondaries will hit 100% idc right near that 550 mark at 7k rpm. Thats with us keeping DI IDC at 85-90%.

Obviously every setup is different and we could bump the DI% up to 100% and run a little less E, but that 600 number eould be at the ragged ragged edge of the standard 6th port.

You really start seeing diminishing returns from the 6th port over 510-20 whp. Thats where I start havimg to request a lot more IPW from the standard 6th port kit vs my car with the upgraded lines and regulator.

There is a lot of great info in this thread about the 450-600whp (big range) turbo options!
Very interested to see what that 5858 does for you OP!

You run straight e85 through the 6th port though correct? If so, that is quite a bit of fueling headroom left on the table.

IIRC DJ was at about 550 at elevation and he was only in the high 80s for DI IDC

No number is set in stone and Bryce will be a pioneer for trying larger injectors in the 6th port kit. So we will see what happens.

Worse case scenario is we ditch e85 and run race gas for the track map which will also open up some headroom.

Yep, you are correct and I definitely think you guys will hit that 650+ with the bigger injectors. I'll either be switching fuels in the secondary or going to a larger injector as well to gain more headroom this year.
