I got lucky with mine! Lol my dad got it as a father son thing since I wanted the car so bad but it was hydrolocked and we had to rebuild it. That lasted 6000 on stock internals and now I am fully built bottom end. All in under a year!

@MSP611;
So I'm slowly putting all of the pieces together to make the most efficient power I can out of my setup. It's been said that a 60mm (stock size) can take you north of 600-800whp. Im not sure how (or why) people would use a 2" (usable area) TB to achieve that but its only good for about 525CFM when tested at NA levels (aka no boost).
Now with a turbo you can always push through restrictions to gain more power but you will have diminishing returns and are just hurting the VE of your engine/setup. Regardless of the numbers the stock TB wont continue to make efficient WHP above 450-500.

Ps... Ryan will be the one that has to worry about tuning everything.

@MSP611;
Yes, they are very finicky. But I stopped tuning and am letting someone with more knowledge take control now. I have too much on my plate right now to spend hrs on end fine tuning my car. So it will no longer be my headache.

@Ziggyboy;
Have fun

in my personal experience in owning and modifying mazdas (starting with rotaries) i have never had problems with any corksport porducts is just wat im saying. Im not saying wilwood is a lesser of a brand, its more of comfortability with and trust in their products

Give us some feedback when you do get this thing going if you would please? I have been looking at brake options for when I need them and would rather get a whole kit than just pads and rotors.

@zjnspeed3; for everyone following this build... there will be lots of feed back. Maybe not on individual parts seeing how I went full potatoe on this build... but I will do the best that I can. Plus there might be some track logs on here as well.

You and your wire tucking foolishness. Lol I'm just getting a cover that Turbo Steve is making for when I go front mount. I am not too electronically inclined. Anything else though, I can figure out. Lol and those Corksport seals are amazing by the way. I have the same ones and the design is the best by far.

Show car lol not for its pure functionality. The tick of wires is more for ease of working on the car

I'm hoping the only working on I will be doing anymore is installing my never-ending parts list and keeping up on maintenance.. I've got big hopes for my motor.

Me too, I have a feeling I'm going to go with an even bigger turbo and better, less restrictive manifold.

I am at 500 miles of break in on the engine with stock turbo and have only hit 12 psi and already know I need a PTE 5858 in my car. Haha!! And I will most likely go with the Cp-e manifold unless Boost Junkyz resolves their issue. And Edge sells the kit so all I have to do is slap it in. But I might find a way to just modify my cp-e downpipe I just put on when I put my motor in instead of paying for a Kozmic one. Save my a couple hundred maybe.

First, the boost junkyz manifold issues are due to the lack of room needed to have the proper tear drop affect with the collector. There are no issues when you run high boost. To play it safe, I have put a wastegate blind on the mani so there will be no issues at all. I'm running a wastegate of the turbo. When I start to get higher in psi, I'll run dual wastegate. Plus you can always run there mani with no wastegate, you don't have to have an external on the mani. However, if you run their mani with the turbo not in the stock location, they're will be no problems. But, there are many of choices out there. I broke welds on my v2 mani when I ran higher boost on my S3 so I don't recommend that.
2nd, only 500 miles for break in?

I am built now because I overboosted so I am staying away from anything that may cause me to do so again. Lol and I am doing 800-1000 before I reallybstart getting into it.

Just letting ya'll know what's up with their mannis. It's not them being a bad company, it's just a know thing about the stock lkcarion, hence why everyone relocates. They had thought they resolved the issue and started to sell their mannis. But there have been 2 people now with boost creep. So they said they are going to go back to the drawing board. So I found this out after I had the mani made and decided to just block off the wastegate therefor eliminating the issue. I don't plan on staying with this mani and turbo for too long. This is just a stepping stone, this build is a stepping stone. Next yr, I start the new build.
