T3 setup or higher.

Dunno if this is the right area but i'm trying to get an idea of how many people are running t3's on their cars, or higher. I've been running my setup for about 10 months put almost 25k on it since then. I've been running a stock tune up until 2 weeks ago. i just bought a standback so well see how far this will go with a tune. Its a garrett clone with a 67 mm compressor and a .84 A/R hotside full 3 in and out. no dyno numbers but my quickest quarter is 13.9 @108, thats with boost cut in 3rd, 4th and 5th. Its pretty laggy of the line but i gain 20 mph from the 1000 ft to 1320. on the highway its nasty and i have pulled on c6's and srt-8's and new ss camaro's. Anyways just trying to get a feel for what other t3's look like in this community. thanks guys.

I think the with the infancy of our motors/tuning it doesn't matter right now but it will once the fuel pressure issues get solved and more power will be made. the runners arent equal and the ewg flange sits basically on the collector for extra added boost creep but it was cheap(thanks dark!). just got my sb so tuning as we speak and i will be at the Delirium Dyno Day in March with my vidcam so we will witness fail first hand!

yeah they figured out the fuel issues so there is no where but up from here. or out the side of the block. wherever. i did run the bcd for a while with a map clamp but my turbo flows too much and i never got the maf flash so you gotta atleast tune thats what im doing not going for the fences or anything.

nah i had hector at exhaust depot build one for 200. he did that shit in 30 min. made my dump tube for 20. thats probably why theyre going out of business.

jgs 40 mm compact. i got it cuz it fit the firewall on that mani. had a tial but traded up. i hope its not the wg. i got it set for stock boost on a 12 lb spring so it should run 15-16 but it creeps to 18-19 in 4-6 gears. i wish i was around when you were getting rid of that turbo. that thing is nasty.

sounds like WG. Look at my tial if you get the special fitting they have for tight spaces you'll have no issues.

yeah i actually have the elbow from my old tial and that never crept just looked ugly jutting off to the side like that.

yeah the three top gears its kinda embarrassing too cuz every time it cuts i shoot a fireball out but yeah srt's are too heavy same with the camaros the only ones i have trouble with are like c63s and m3's(e92). but yeah that cheap ass turbo moves some cfm. Picture me watching the boost gauge fluttering the throttle during a 5th gear run. it sucks but im getting the maf flash and will run the standard 22 psi limit on the sb and hopefully that will cure the cut.

nah i like that it doesnt go over the valve train but it is actually partly visible under the intake.

The ignition works great.. With the 2 step colder plugs I would sometimes throw a code for random multiple misfire but I haven't had it pop up with the ignition installed. I was shocked at how small it was when I first opened the box though...

The point of this thread is to raise a little awareness for those who are concerned about heavily modding these cars. Like i said in the first post ive had my T3 for longer than ive had it stock and no problems. I think once we overcome all these tuning obstacles we'll see this thread take off.

If anything the 3 will be more of a true daily with just bolt-ons , I have a project car which I want to at last finish which will be my go fast car . I later on I may also get a wrx which is what I really want !

I'm also working on lots of other parts as we speak , I will be calling you once I get them tested . Looks like the exhaust manifold for the stocker is a win , I already ordered the parts to make more using thick elbows for super long life.

you probably should have about 400whp to hang with a C6 vette at 3200lbs that comes with about 380whp(420-430bhp) stock with a 3600lbs car. turbo is doing its job i suppose

Yeah, i love it on the highway because it keeps pulling especially in the high gears. Even with the cut i would pull on them but that has been worked out so im gonna get that on video. My buddy has a C6 and i pull on him past 80. The turbo is a little overkill for the size of the motor but a new medium body turbo is in the works. i'll keep updating the pics as it progresses. I don't have numbers yet but im scheduled for a dyno day in march so i will post that as well.

It will be done soon I hope , now I can ACTUALLY finish it . I have it done I just need hotter days to get my friend to spray it for me .
