Default Corksport Bypass Valve

So i just bought a corksport bypass valve from someone, and when i installed it i noticed i was getting some compressor surge when i went over 18PSI...... it hasn't been significant, just a small surge, but its still surge. i did get one loud turbo flutter and the car bogged on me, so i took the BPV apart to clean and relube it to see if that was the issue. when i was cleaning it i noticed that the BPV piston has scuffing all over the edge. could this be the reason that the surge is happening? if not, what could be the culprit?

Get logs to see if you can see that it's actually fluttering or not.

I had a beta CS BPV and that spring makes it a very distinct sounding valve. I don't recall anything that sounded like flutter, but it's possible its not actually compressor surge you are hearing.

Was it a beta tester unit? They all fluttered. CorkSport sent out revised pistons to fix the problem.

i bought it used from someone and they said it was relatively new. all i know is that when i go over 19PSI its a very faint flutter. it doesn't do it in 2nd gear because I'm not hitting that high in boost. but it does it when i hit full boost in 3rd and 4th, but i have to be going WOT for it to flutter. just really unsettling knowing that i could potentially ruin my turbo

i switched back to stock. I'm only targeting 18psi, like it shouldn't be doing that at only 18psi

Still running my beta tester one with no problems. Never had issue with the original piston that it came with, but put the updated one in just cause CS sent it to me. Only other issue I ever had with flutter was one time after checking spark plugs and putting the TMIC back on, I unknowingly had pinched the vacuum hose to it and after trouble shooting to discover that that was the problem...no more problem. If you're Piston got marred somehow, that could def cause the piston to not move properly. Ask @CorkSport; about getting you a new one. Did you buy it new or used? Do you run a TMIC and any chance the vacuum hose was pinched when you had the CS one on? All things to consider. Good luck kid!
