+1 for genjuan.

I've got the PartPlaza dampers (my car is actually the first image on their site) but they don't really hold up too well to the sheer weight of the stock hood; the slightest breeze in the wrong direction = big fat headache for anyone dumb enough to have their head in there.

I'd love to have something a little more effective. Perhaps I can provide measurements of the brackets that came with it or something to move that along a little bit...?

Edit:
I also did an install guide for them as part of the discount beta.

We are back in stock of the lift hood lift kits!

Since people will ask I will answer now, the Gen 1 kits are moving forward, I do not have a date yet for them to be available but they are going forward.

I spoke with our engineers about them. They are not able to get a kit setup that would not require drilling or look like crap in the Mazdaspeed 6 so we have decided to not pursue making them.

Bummer. is it just me or does the MS6 have the heaviest hood of any car in the world. It's easily the heaviest I've ever owned. I love how the prop rod bends under the weight of the hood. Wishing they would have gone with aluminum like the WRX.
Hey now that's a thought, an aftermarket aluminum hood w/mild scoop...

So I did some sniffing and it seems autoexe used to make hood dampers for the GG chassis (aka Gen1 6). They are direct bolt on too so I definitely think it is possible for you guys to make it and the market is there for it.

We had to get a different strut made for the Gen 1 which has slowed down the development of the kit. I do not have a revised ETA for the kit yet but they are going forward.

Guys and Gals, I really can't stress enough what an easy install, and more importantly, what a great little mod this is for our cars. If you know your in your engine bay often, these not only get that prop rid out of the way, but lift the hood higher and give you even more room to work.
No drilling kids!

Couldn't agree more with you. This is honestly one of my favorite parts I have. It makes working in the engine bay not so annoying with the hood prop out of the way.

Exactly, couldn't tell you how many time I whacked my hand, arm, or head against the prop rod working in the engine bay. Pretty inconvenient having it right in front of the intake IMO.

Looking forward to ordering these as well. I spend a lot of time under the hood and these are a mod i've been waiting for to come out for the gen1 for a while now. Hopefully your ETA of end of April will stand true. I'm ready to pull the trigger the minute they are released for gen1.
