If you're looking for more test subjects, I'll throw my hat into the ring as well. I've been planning on pulling and doing some mild porting on my IM soon anyway. I'm also pretty anal retentive about logging each revision on both the hardware and software/firmware sides of things.

Was planning to order a Relentless Customs PnP in a few weeks, but I would like to see what this is capable of. Also, as a million others have said, if you need a tester I am down for the right price.

CS IM: info: 17 hp with X mods for $700 plus shipping

Relentless Customs: IM intake manifold that has been ported, polished, and powdercoated.
During the porting process, the runners are tested for balance between pistons 1/4 and 2/3, the VTCS system is removed and associated mounts are removed and shaved down. Manifolds are properly powdercoated and the OEM vacuum connection for the brake booster is replaced.

The question was what would be the different between the CS and OEM custom which is half the price.

I want to see data and design.

Also some flow bench data from a third party showing a balanced flow would be great.
this is why the things are bought.
is there room to remove material if porting intake side on the head and match up? I t likes like port matching could be done.

You really burned me on that obvious autocorrect. Based on your post you really appear to lack an understanding of what an intake manifold can do for a car. If you are worried about $350 in your mod budget this probably isnt for you.

CS update for you GUys that are curious about some of the same details as myself"

"There are some details which are not finalized so they were left out of the post. The runners are larger but there is no port matching, that is up to the installer of the manifold. There is no tumble stuff in the manifold so it will pop a code for it missing which you will need to turn off in the tune. We haven’t decide on color options, we are not that far along yet."

A mystery like how the CS turbo was then BAM...so I am guessing CS have more to the eyes can see.

It is a matter of saving $350 if the part does not outflow a ported oem piece. You would be an idiot to spend more for no gain. If you want to throw away $350 and be at the same place as a ported oem unit then be my guest. Another reason why I brought that up was because there are quite a few pnp oem units already on cars and I am sure people would like to know how it stacks up.

Does anyone actually think corksport would bother producing this if it wasn't better than a ported stocker?

For the tinfoil hat brigade, yes.

Pretty much all that needs to be proven is that it out performs a PnP manifold both in overall flow and distribution. It would be nice to see a direct comparison to a JMF, but I believe there are comparisons of a PnP manifold to a JMF already, so we could estimate there if needed.

The only real question is if it performs well enough to justify the cost vs. PnP and is close enough to a JMF to make the leap there worth the additional cost.

Not saying we shouldn't want numbers before purchase. Just pointing out that this would be a foolish endeavor on the part of corksport if a ported stocker was better. The people wondering if it will be worth the extra purchase price need to ask themselves the opposite question, is it worth corksport making if it won't be worth purchasing.

@Easter Bunny;

I agree with your view on this but how many times in the past has a vendor tried to make something that just did not pan out?

Just to me at the price point of $750 plus I am guessing $50 minimum to ship this thing a ported oem piece will probably flow on par. Again these comments are all speculation and until corksport delivers some type of data ALL comments will just be speculation.

In for results.

The feedback I have seen hands-down number 1 is for flow testing. And I think that is not outragous to ask. Best thing they could do is ask for feedback before investing in mass-production on a product that may collect dust like SURE motor mounts do now.

You nailed it again and CS did and we compared everyone and all on many occasions. For example the simple sway bars to brake pads to motor mounts etc.

Right now, the CS turbo is a big hit. THe heat shield, I am not sure but it looks nice. IM is another level as I stated from a brief convo with CS.

A mystery like how the CS turbo was then BAM...so I am guessing CS have more to the eyes can see.

this bell has been rung already, but there is a large pool of science and wrench badasses on this forum who consistently put their vehicles on the line for the greater good (the greater good), so people like me can reap the benefits. they are active in the community, and i'm sure corksport knows who they are. i would like to see corksport reach out and afford them the opportunity to fully engulf themselves with this project. i enjoyed following along with the various turbo threads and all the shenanigans they offered as they progressed with their tuning, but it would be nice to see a solid benchmark set with real world data from trusted members here before the product's release. i'm sure there are qualified candidates outside of the community, but we do not connect with them on a daily basis. it would be a disservice to the product by not taking advantage of these dedicated, not stock, science motherfucker, individuals; whether they have something nice to say about it or not.

Derrick sorry if I shared something I wasn't supposed to. I am I fan and supporter of CS and I want you guys to always win and be on top. Without a doubt, I support CS. My debate or conversational tone is more about the data of 17hp and the beauty of the design inside that allowed you guys to accomplish this power. For the sake of the surprise that you have in store for us all, I will stay in the shadows and read.

Isn't it better to inject meth be TB or is that just if you want to see BAT response on MAP. I know direct port is better if you want equal meh per runner.
@CorkSport; since AEM is a popular kit and it can have clearance issues with the integrated CV / nozzle holders, you may want to test and report ahead of time on if they will fit.

That was my first concern also being an AEM owner. When I fitted my TB spacer, the ~7PM position was the only place to get comfortable clearance. I also didn't want to have to build a distro block if I weren't going to be running a lot of meth. What I'd like to see.. well here's my rudimentary MS Paint changes: raised contours on the runners for the bungs to be angled with intake flow, and a 5th bung added at the ~7-8PM orientation for clearance on a single (or additional nozzle for the meth guzzlers) check valve integrated nozzle holder, and still have it in a serviceable location with the best potential to distribute to all 4 runners.

Pre tb would be giving the single or dual nozzle setup a better chance to distribute. Port injection is better but requires a lot more to setup a d the amount of meth you would spray is probably not warranted for a lot of people.

I thought about PI before and looked up nozzles. A DO 1 or 2 would be low enough for PI for what most need. I'm just not a fan of DO kits.

I have a Relentless ported stocker.
I was unaware that it was flow matched.

I'm not too knowledgeable in the area of port injection, but my immediate reaction is that I don't like the design of those port injection bungs. Almost every port injected car on the road has the injectors shoved directly into the cylinder head at a significant angle and as close to the valves as possible. In theory you could have atomization and response problems from the liquid fuel being shot directly onto the intake runner, fuel puddling, and other issues. Also, it seems like access would be a real issue that way without removing the intake manifold. What if you need to do something basic like disconnect or swap out an injector?

This setup probably better for direct port meth vs PI; putting the rail on top near the head would prevent running a TMIC.

put the meth ports UNDER the runners or 180 out from current and provide plugs; my meth will be pre TB but this leaves options; if this flows EVEN and better than a PnP I would be in; no option currently leaves VTCS; I have a spare manifold waiting for a port job but still, yours will likely look better.

I have not really researched the jmf manifold but in the honda community those types of manifolds actually hurt power and my guess is the jmf does not perform like you would think. The CS and the ported oem unit probably flows more than anyone will ever really need. The jmf is ass ugly and I would not drop my hard earned cash on such a thing.

It take quite a bit of skill and know how to eek out extra power with "flow mods" on a Honda motor.
This fucking thing, you could hack at the runners with a chisel and you'd flow better than stock.
Most people already know where I stand on the jmf mani...

I agree that the best location is being shot straight at the valves. I don't like the idea of tapping the cold pipe/throttle body location just because of how much turbulence and wall wetting you end up with.

On the flip side, this will be no worse of a design than the throttle body spacers currently on the market. I'd venture to say it'll be better just because the injectors will be aimed at an angle somewhere between parallel and perpendicular to the runners. All speculation until you actually tested the piece though.
