(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So currently I have the car tore down to the fuel rail as I have just completed replacing the Fuel injector seals with the Toyota seals.. I had the car 100% back together as of an hour ago and when I started it up I could literally see fuel pouring down from one of the injectors where it goes into the fuel rail on the passenger side. Im about to attempt to reseat the O rings again but my trouble lies with how to do that. I read and reread the how to that CPE put out for the new injector seals that everyone uses for high HP Builds. All the information I seem to be gathering just states that you should use some oil to lube the rings and install the fuel rail straight on. That's cool and all but seriously I put some pressure on that thing when I installed in and it didn't want to go... So I ended up using the bolts and slowly tightened them until the rail mated with the head. Can anyone give me some input here? I'm ready to lose it.. Thanks in advanced guys. Ryan |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Ya, 1500psi in fuel pressure will find a way. Those 4 o-rings should be replaced anytime the rail is removed. The 3 grommets should be ok, just make sure they are installed in the correct order.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I lubed up the o-rings, and rail sockets, with some engine oil and went verrrry slowly and evenly. Used the bolts to pull the rail into place. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I've never had an issue pushing the rail completely on after the o-rings were lubed.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So I found some pretty nasty shit inside the fuel rail where the o rings mate to the cups, scrubbed it out with some steel wool, cleaned the rail thoroughly and the surfaces are wayyy better off now. I could literally see o ring material that was stuck to the inside of the rail. Lubed up my new 100$ o rings.... And pushed that bad boy into place after slowly warming the o rings with the help of a wet washcloth that I heated in the microwave (just for clarification I heated the cloth and placed the o rings into it afterwards). So. The fuel rail is in place and everything's torqued to spec.. I powered on the car with the fuel system tightened up and I heard the pump prime and no fuel leak this far. So? Am I safe just having primed it or could this still bite me in the ass? Basically what I'm asking is how high of a pressure does the pump prime to Before ignition? I guess I was under the assumption that the HPFP was mechanically driven and not electronically, ergo I may still get fckd here. Input please? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score In tank pump is 60 odd PSI. The mechanical pump is in the neighborhood of 1800 PSI. So you wont know if you are screwed until you turn the engine over. Floor the gas pedal and try to turn the key. Shouldn't start the car, but will turn it over. |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Got it all put back together and started, doesn't seem like there's any boost leaks and no descernable smell of fuel to speak of, no obvious leaks. Looks like it's good. Much appreciate the face palm by the way. ![]() Thanks for the help gents. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score This is my first post on here, and I wish I had found this thread before making the exact same mistake the OP did. On the plus side, now that I've already done it once, it shouldn't be as bad the second go-round |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I just did this in my car. Installed the corksport tokay seals and new orings/plastic clip things and it was a bitch to seat the rail even though I lubed the orings and the inside of the rail where they sit. I got them i'd say 95% on and then used the bolts to snug it on. Hope that shit doesn't leak when I go to start it up. 15 bucks a pop for those o-rings is whack! |
