Default Is this a bad idea?

I’ve had my eye on a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 for a little while now but im not sure if it would be a good idea to buy it. To start off, the car has 143k miles on it. The previous owner had a BNR stage 2 turbo installed on it (I dont know when it was installed, but ill try to figure out) along with a turbosmart BOV, Cobb intake, and Cobb catback exhaust. Would these mods decrease the reliability, as this car would become my DD. I would greatly appreciate any input on this. Thanks for your replies in advance!

High miles. I would not buy a daily with 100k miles. I would definitely not buy a car marketed as a fwd hot rod with 140k miles.

2005 Mazda 3 SP23: mods include rusty quarter panels and grinding 3rd gear. It does have a fusion motor, so I guess that's a mod too.

Depends on finances. Your wording makes it sound like you couldn't afford to rebuild the car when it dies. Key word when, not if. These do not make good DD'ers at higher mileage.

If you're going to buy, set aside $200/month for repairs. That way, you got the funds to build if needed, and if it lasts 4 years without a problem (lucky you) then you got the funds to build anyway and go crazy with it.

I'd buy a crap civic as a DD to hold me over and buy a mazdaspeed shell and go crazy with the shell when I have money. But I have peculiar circumstances that make me want to go this route.

factor in either building a new motor or having one built, mine exploded with 111K on it, I think I was able to put 4kish on it before it went boom, taking the piston out that had the rod get pissed it appears that I had a ring problem, should have done a compression test after I bought it.

my car will be a DD but with forged pistons, H beam rods, CS turbo and so on, should be decent in my mind.
