Default Battle my Virtual Dyno

This is where i'm at:
*edit, using plot with 1.01 CF


Taken a few weeks ago in the morning. It's cooler now, so i might be making more, and i added a 4" intake to the setup. No correction on the plot. Basically just loaded it up and chose my car and gear.


Here's before and after tuning on the new setup... this plot has 1.09 CF, the default in VD.






I know there are a lot of plots posted in the Vdyno thread, but figured this would be a great place to post up some good ones. I know some of the e85 guys are making ridiculous torque, so lets see em :phillyb:

Also, since wheel spin makes things kinda hoaky, 4th gear pulls are prob best for those of us that have traction issues haha.

Here's sir flush's-a-lot on his new hta35r. We're just getting started with timing. I added 2 degrees since i got this log:






And his spool is absolutely silly. He has 20 psi by like 3400 rpm.

No, that's 'real' torque, but it's so low in the rpm range that it typically doesn't spin 4th I can only spin tire in 4th when it's chilly out and the tires aren't warmed up yet.

Thanks for starting this thread. From what I've seen VD vs Actual Dyno it's extremely close that I'd save my money as I mentioned in another thread lol. Your plot looks great DJ. I'll have one up next spring FWIW (I know not a Mazda) as I have plans over the winter

My latest with the GTX3071

3rd and 4th gear.



Smoothing from 1 to 3 didn't change the peak numbers on this one for some reason so I left it at 3...

edit: this was with 2 gal of e85 by the way.

I think the guys in the E85 thread are using a custom CF of 1.01 which actually matches up with their real DJ numbers.

When doing these plots for consistency - do them on the same stretch of road and start at the same RPM.

It is a different log. It was the highest i've recorded so far... but done on the same stretch of road.

My boost is whacko anyways. It's still the stock map sensor, but it reads very non linear once i start going over 25 psi.

Hold on a sec ... it's a 2.5 bar so that means you can eek out ~22-23psi worth of "reading" room ... How is it showing 32?

No clue, hahaha. My guess is that 23psi corresponds to the 4.5 or 4.65 volt point. But if the sensors goes nonlinear, it may just peg 5 volts or something... which perhaps the ecu interprets as higher.

Also note, that the 22-23 psi it can read is really closer to 24.5 to 25.5 at this altitude for PSIA. So that gives our map sensors a lil bit of head room.

Interesting data here.

The first 2 plots were taken this month on a 3/9 mix of E85 and the much higher logging resolution the AP now has. Tune is incomplete due to well you know, fueling issues lol

The second 2 plots were taken last October on the same hardware setup and tune that my 350WHP DJ dyno was run on.

In my case using the 1.09 CF is closer to what my local DJ dyno put out.

Also of interest is the smoothness of the first two plots...

Why is this..well two things are different:

1) later plots used logs taken with the higher logging resolution the new AP has
2) the first plots were done on a load tune....hum...I may have to switch back and see how it looks. I looked back at other older load tune plots and they have much smoother boost curves...so its the resolution or load tuning IDK which.

Just found these little jewels which were taken right before my fueling issues started. IIRC it was just after it turned just a bit cooler and by BT tune was having WGDC issues so its not smooth but I think the peak HP numbers are reasonable. Well maybe not the 412 but 390s

This was probably with the additional timing allowed with E and the others were on 93 timing.

Glad someone else is closer on the 1.09 cf... Cuz that's where I'm at too. Maybe it's an altitude thing? Idk

I've posted these in one of my other threads, but Green is from the way to the dyno when I hit exactly 400 on the dyno, Red is the first iteration of my higher boost map, and Blue was my 2nd iteration of that map, but I had to stop running it because my FP can't keep up to that power level. I also put up the actual dyno chart below it.

Also, note the boost logged in these runs were all with old scalars for the 3.5bar map, and the new scalars show that these boost levels are reading ~2.5 psi higher than they should be.

Yeah, I was EXTREMELY surprised to see that the baby hotside on this thing isn't hurting it at all yet. I'm thinking the GTX is helping some in that department over the normal GT.

I also bring on boost more slowly than everyone seems to try to one here, which probably helps as well. I'd really like to stay at or below 400wtq, since more than that doesn't do much for me with FWD, and the lower tq should help me keep my stock clutch a little longer.

EDIT: Just wanna add that with more fuel (possibly meth) I see no reason I won't be able to hit 500+ with this turbo. At a real boost of ~23psi in these plots, the turbo is just getting happy. If the small hotside doesn't choke things up too much, I think ~32 psi will do it.
