Default BLOWN ENGINE ON MY DD!!

gas pedal slipped under weather tech mats while doing a pull and caused an unintended redline hold. I'm almost positive my engine exploded and is toast. had to walk my ass home with no phone and on the way back walking I found chunks on the road looks like cast aluminum. when I get back to where the car is I check it out and the top looks normal but there's obviously something busted on the bottom of the engine and oil everywhere. this an accidental zzb? this is my daily driver. I only have RMM, 3in intake, and an AP with a freektune map. I really don't know how to go about this and honestly any help would really be great. also if anyone has the stock map to a first gen thatd be really helpful incase I have to put the stock intake and airbox back on to sell. thanks everyone.

It's toast. I'm sorry for your loss.ask me how I know.
$4k-ish for someone else (that you trust) to put in a used long block. Maybe a little less. If you un-marry the AP, it'll put it back to stock, and you can sell it and the mods separately, if that's the way you go.

3 or 6 and what year and miles? Where are you located?

If it helps, my MS6 went almost 5 years ago at 156k. Got a Gen 2 engine transplanted and should roll over 300k miles in the next month or two.
Mods and warranties don't mix, but hopefully they'll cover it. Good luck.

it seems like stocking out for now is the way to go before taking it anywhere then. I need to switch out the intake put my ecu back in place and change the RMM back if that will make a difference.. when your engine blew how did you go about it as far as actually getting a new motor and getting it installed? I appreciate your replies very much

Do you have a shop you trust -really trust- to do it? If so, talk with them first. I sourced my engine myself and had it drop shipped to my shop. (I'm in Texas).
Post in Mazdaspeed Owners on FB. There are several salvage guys there who are pretty reputable. I like Salvage Performance, and they ship anywhere, but three are other good ones that may be closer to you. Look at their FB or their eBay store just to see what they have and to get an idea on cost.
After you have a better feel for what it will take, make a decision.

I see they have a gen 2 engine with 41k..
would it be stupid to have my local Mazda do the swap? I've tried reaching out to a few people that I've seen are in the area and just requested to join the nator OR Facebook page so maybe I can find a trusted local shop by Monday when I have to make a move.

Trust your Nator. The dealer would do it right, but with a new crate and will cost way more.

time for another engine, your bloc is likely destroyed and could probably not be rebuild

check speed and also cx7 used engine...The best is probably to get one with a warranty and best if the install job goes with it. You will have like 3months or more to check if the engine is ok

Usually it doesn't blow because of redline but because of being loaded below 3000rpm with knock....this can break or weaken a rod or the rod bearing...But i know it won't help for now but maybe if you keep the car....

If it is really a genuine and new engine this, it is way better than most of any other options.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. A new engine is much cheaper than a new car though. Good luck with the process.
