Blown Turbo?????

Hey all, back with another question. I'm new to turbo induction and the sounds a turbo and the bypass valve makes. Since I just bought the car I have been listening to any and every noise this car makes. And every time the turbo spools up and i shift (let off the gas) I hear the let off of the pressure through the bypass valve...but, as i was jumping on the highway today to get to school I realized that while I was shifting I wasn't hearing any bypass valve shwoosh that i usually hear. Maybe I'm just freaking out over nothing, but it sounds weird to me.

What are your modifications.

If not modified, then it is fine, and you need to read some stickies, like in my sig.

If your car is stock it should barely make any sound, you'll her the woosh sound if you get a after market bpv/bov or a intake.

Did you feel a noticeable reduction in power? How hard were you accelerating?

No mods. But ms6ftw, I could definitely still hear the turbo and bpv noise quite well when the radio isn't on. and ABSpeed3 i was in 4th gear around 4k rpm still accelerating at probably 65% throttle. its on a on-ramp that I do this frequently because it goes from the ramp to a straight where I like to get on it.

Slight reduction of power. I didn't get the surge of power that I usually do, it felt like I was driving my old mazda 2.3 N/A

if you are stock and you havent built up a lot of pressure then you will not hear it most of the time

correct me if i'm wrong but wouldn't a little heat soak change the sounds a bit. i feel like when my car is cold i hear tubro/bpv a little more than when it's warmed up.

Ahhhhh, heat soak, I was in traffic before I hit the highway. That could be it, I totally forgot about that. I'll see if it does it again when I go to work tonight.

Is it cold where you are? Could it be you're hitting load targets w/less boost?
