(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So, I have been trying to diagnose some issues, but have come across something that doesn't seem to be right. My MS6 has a BNR S3 turbo and a 3-port Cobb EBCS, and I have a question about how the EBCS is installed. Currently the turbo has a line connected to the port on the compressor side, and is plumbed to the lower port on the wastegate (similar to the image below). On Cobb's EBCS Mazdaspeed installation page, they state to cap both ports (shown below). I have a rich at idle issue right now, but my radiator recently developed a leak. I am waiting for my new radiator to come in, but am trying to diagnose as much as possible while the car is torn apart. It seems obvious to me to fix it, but I just want to make sure everyone agrees. Link to Cobb's instructions: https://cobbtuning.atlassian.net/wik...ntrol+Solenoid

| Neutral : +1 score Pics aren't showing up for me... There are only a couple ways to route it for it to work properly and many ways that won't work properly. Search google for 3-port EBCS hose routing and see if yours looks like one of them.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score That’s weird. The images I added are in the link to Cobb’s site in my original post. I basically added the first two images underneath “Cobb EBCS Installation” in the provided link.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Proper 3-port routing should be: Turbo Inlet Pipe > EBCS Port 1 (right port) Compressor Port > EBCS Port 3 (middle port) Wastegate Port > EBCS Port 2 (left port) Intake Manifold > BPV Port (factory routing) Also worth mentioning that you want to keep the SHORTEST route possible for all hoses. Don't mount your EBCS halfway across your engine bay and run 3 foot hoses. I'd say try to keep your hoses less than 1 foot if possible. Last edited by Solarsurge; 07-20-2018 at 10:11 PM. Reason: Moved Port 3 to middle to eliminate confusion |

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So you guys agree that the compressor port and bottom port of the waste gate should be capped? I went ahead and capped them and now I have a tee running off of the bpv to port 3, port 1 to tip, and port 2 to wastegate.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Did you read what I wrote at all? lol NO. You don’t cap them. You run 1/8” ID hoses in the manner I indicated. Stock EBCS only has two ports. That routing is to replace the stock EBCS on a 2 port stock setup. Your turbo is meant to be run in 3 port mode. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Not to start a whole new discussion on boost source, but I use the stock EBCS boost source (compressor housing). It's a lot less hose and the source pressure should be higher there which I think would make a faster reacting wastegate.

Precisely why probably every other EBCS maker recommends my routing in their instructions and nearly all modded Mazdaspeeds are hooked up that way. I honestly don’t know why Cobb is so extra with their routing. It makes no sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | |
