(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score thinking about a mustang gt either this or next summer. between selling mods and being right side up on my note, i probably have $8k to put towards it. i want a base gt with manual, brembo brakes & 3.73 rear end for options. usaa's price is $27k. $27k - $8k = $19k which would make for a lower monthly payment. i'm leaning more towards next summer but want to take a test drive next weekend. interested in what you guys (brownies too) think. however, save the "pay off your car and live debt free" faggotry.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I test drove on of the new 5.0s with a manual. It was a blast. The car is so fast and felt relatively nimble for being a larger car than the MS3. You'll lose a lot of practicality, and the rear seats really aren't any good unless you want to put small dogs back there. Do your research though, as I've heard of quite a few of the new 5.0s breaking their transmissions within a few months of owning the car.

To O/P, i have an MT-82 6 speed built on 8/10 and have had an issue in the beginning with the clutch sticking to the floor in high RPM shifts twice, but ford replaced mine under warranty to the revised and updated GT500 pedal assembly. Now all GT's come with this revised pedal revision. So if your buying used, check the door jam for a build date. Or you can just buy an auto and enjoy . I drive in a alot of traffic in Dallas, TX so if i could do it all over, id get an auto, but thats just me. Otherwise if you like shifting and enjoy making over 400HP with simple bolt-ons and OTS tunes, this is the car for you. and if you like putting guys who say they walk out on c5 z06's to the test.

i found one new camaro ls3 with a kid driving, ( one and only) and it couldn't hang when i was on stock turbo .... love to destroy that car now no one in these parts can afford the high hp models and by that time they are, their no longer a price comparison, bang for buck anyway! i did look at mustangs when i looked at my car, and equal hp car was 35000 so 10 g more for slower? fuck that, and crappy mileage,

Different Strokes For Different Folks. As far as price...i got mine OTD for 32k back on 8/2010 with everything minus Nav. Now one can be had for 26-28k similar to mine if you look hard enough. bang for the buck? I think its the best bet right now if your looking for a 30K RWD v8. I think the biggest set back is the idea of having no mods when buying a new car, starting from scratch sounds fun but fail always see to poke its head around the corner.

| YOu ever driven a mustang setup for track? Change your opinion rather quickly. Besides, these 2010+ mustangs are nothing of the past. They actually handle.. and if you upgrade the stock components, you would be amazed at what a car its become. Lets not mention 5,6 or 700 hp is not far from reality. STIs, EVOs, etc are a dime a dozen as well.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'm sure just about anything that was "set up" for track would be fun to drive. Hence why I didn't buy any of those cars. I could have, but I didn't want to be another white kid trying to be a wannabe racer. Look, I'm sure the new 5.0 is fast and sounds damn good. That doesn't change the fact that there are roughy 10/.0000001 Mustangs already out there being driven around by moms and rednecks. Mr. Goldfarb already has horrible taste so I would expect him to follow up with another great decision here... |

| Not Ranked : 0 score How many speeds do you see on the road? I don't see many, I like being a little bit different, one of the main reasons I got the speed, and not a GTI is because it's different, I rarely see speeds on the road but see GTIs all the time.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score appreciate the devils' advocates (except for danish). uniqueness. i honestly don't see that many coyotes on the road. i actually pass quite a few genpus (driven mostly by old pedos). weight. 398 hp / 371 ft lbs (wheels) has to move 3600 lbs better than 286 hp / 312 ft lbs (wheels) moving 3150 lbs does. i'm more interested in seeing if it handles better. 2012 GT Baseline Dyno on a DynoJet - Mustang Forums at StangNet i'll take a test drive this weekend and see where it goes. i'm very attached to my ms3 but i got a fever.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score my dealer has two black base gt's w/ the 3.73 rear end and their price through usaa is $25.5k. depending on how well the gt handles on the test drive, i'll put my car up for sale with mods on and see what happens. it will break my heart to part out and drive it stock so i'll patiently wait for the right buyer. before marriage and kids, i went from a '90 sho to a '93 police package z28. this is feeling like the same step up. i love my ms3, but i want cheaper monthly payments, my engine pointing the right way, and the correct wheels supplying power. irony is i wouldn't be straying if the ms3 resale value wasn't so high.

| Not Ranked : 0 score The new 5.0's are pretty sick. Very fast from the factory and respond well to mods. I know some people are complaining about the reliability of the 6 speed (issues with popping out of gear or not going into gear) but doesnt seem like its the majority of people. If I could afford one, I would definitely get it. You wont be disappointed with it. There is a pretty good aftermarket world for it too and they arent that expensive to mod... |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I'll post a pic of a Mustang in the garage that is really nice. Talked to the owner, car not here today. But it is the GT with the 373 rear and the 19" w/ Brembo. Black / Black - really nice.
