Default Getting a Key for 06 Mazdaspeed6
Hi Guys, so recently I purchased a project car for myself a 06 Mazdaspeed6. It was repo car, I knew that before buying it was good chance it had blown engine so I got it cheap. After having going thru it, I found out that one of the pistons has melted so I bought a used engine to replace it due to the fact I was not sure how much more damage was done to this one. But now I have an issue when I bought the car I only got a metal key with it and that doesn't work. When I called the dealership, they told me I need to buy the key which is keyless go type and then reprogram it. But the car is not running so I would have to tow it to them.

Is it possible to buy this unit of ebay and install it, the car would start?

Had to deal with this when replacing a buddies engine. He ended up buying two keys from the dealer then had a lock smith reprogram the car.
