(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score What I can tell you is this - the intercooler is and will be far and away a better performer than the ETS unit. The intercooler has integrated cold and hot side pipes rather than reusing the stock plumbing entirely. The pipe to the throttle body is designed to go direct to the throttle body and maximize flow rather than use the 90 degree flex elbow on 07+ cars or the awkwardly shaped neck of the 06 mazdaspeed6s. the intercooler also has a custom fabricated co2 cooling coil integrated into the cold side endtank. you do not have to, but you can choose to, use this feature. rather than setting it up afterwards, all you will need to do is plug in your co2 system and switches. TRZ is debating whether or not to bring the intercooler to market, which is where you guys come in. I am not going to sugarcoat this; its going to be more expensive than an ETS. But people who have seen or bought the TRZ rear mount know of the kind of quality machine work and build to expect and once people see the intercooler in action, that will all but ensure sound reasoning as to why it will be more expensive. I am not talking a huge price difference, but its going to be more. What I would like to know is this - are you guys open to spending more on a top mount intercooler from TRZ knowing it performs better, is better built, has a few nicer or extra features? Put your name down if so, and stay tuned for more info and images to come, later this week if all goes well. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score This is gonna be a great alternative for those who dont wanna fork out the cash for a FMIC. I love how they are getting rid of the stock piping. Should be very interesting.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Approx. how much and will it be just as efficient as a FMIC. I would consider it for $250-300 less than COBB or equivalent . I want to keep a stock look on my front end. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score If it performs like a fmic at a tmic price.... yeah, keep the stealth look down and put that bad boy in there. What people are forgetting is that even though it costs more, now we won't need to shell out the EXTRA cash for boost tubes. It could end up being equal and now you have HARD tubes. If it stays in the $600 range, I am so jumping on this! |

| Not Ranked : 0 score well fellas i have a unit in my garage right now !! i am waiting to get some silicone couplers to actually install it....ORDERED!! let me clarify some of the details. the inlet side od the IC willre-use the stock coupler off of the turbo. it does however use pipe that is 1/4" larger. the stock coupler does stretch to fit. the IC does not use the big silly plate that surrounds the ETS. after lots of testin on my stock with and without the shroud i noticed it didnt make a damn difference with my boost temps if it was there or not ! the cold pipe is very nice. it makes for tricky fittment though. as you can see even mazda had a hard time getting something in there. thats why they shoved that sorry excuse of plumbing pancake thing on there !! to use the cold pipe i had to remove the rubber seal that sit around the stock shroud...remember there is no shroud on this anyways ! and a small U shaped notch had to be cut out of the plastic under the hood. i know some people cringe at things like that, but trust me its worth it !! the result is that you get to use a cold pipe that is a full 3" !! the co2 system is cool too. i dont have the parts i need for that just yet ...(money is tight) but from tests we have seen we expect this system to drop BOOSTED air temps up to 20% BELOW AMB. the BPV sits in the same area just at a different angle, so i also had to geet a new piece of flexible recirc hose. all these couplers and hoses will be included with an order IF TRZ decides to produce these.TEMPS !! i will be sure to post pics and results when i get the parts i need. ALSO becaus this was fitted to an MS3 we are unsure of how the cold pipe would fit on a speed 6. if i have a WILLING TEST MULE out there i can arrange a special price for you to try it on a MS6. if it ended up not working the $$ would be refunded. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score This is kind of a big deal for some people (me.) Why? Well because my engine fell out. Fast forward a bit, I now consider the front engine mount 100% necessary if for nothing more than a security policy. It helps other things too though. This means that a FMIC is just out of the question, as gorgeous as they look, I just need an engine mount there instead. So this leaves me with a single option, the ETS, which I have heard hearsay that it is of dubious quality. Nothing confirmed, but compared to cobb and cp-e FMICs which are thoroughly tested and researched, I doubt that much time and effort has gone into it. Having another option is great, even if the TRZ isn't up there with the cobb and cp-e ICs, its a step in the right direction and definitely the way I'm planning to go now. I have money in hand, I want in on the first batch.

| Not Ranked : 0 score if its cost is even close to the cost of the autoexe unit forget about it. but if its somewhat close to the price of the ets unit id be interested. my main question is does the extra cost=extra performance over the ets?? |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Am interested but would like to see some prices. I was going to buy the ETS 3.25" before the end of October, but if this will give better performance for the right price, I'll hold off.
