(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I'm going to extrapolate from the only available data, which comes from the UK: https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=...93&q=Mazda+MPS which indicates that as of 2019, and if the trends are the same for both countries, there should be ~4700 MS6 still on the road in the US. Any thoughts on whether or not this becomes a classic car of any value in the future? I would doubt that it would, given the sale price for those that are left, but with the limited amount of vehicles left I suppose it could happen. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score i agree and i don't know what you think but for me, a classic isn't a car that looks like all others on the road but one that everyone knows it is one, even if peoples not involved with cars...I can resume it of 80s and before.... For exemple, i still have a 1993 ford Probe that is about 27 years old and even if it is still in shape, it doesn't worth more than any other used car in shape that are just 10 years old...The Speed3 or 6 won't be different in here.... It would be an old car like some other that you may drive by and find someone looking at it and come to talk with you because he owned one in the past... It isn't known enough to even be a classic in the futur, it will just disappear like my Probe or any other.....

| Not Ranked : 0 score The probe was an MX6 and the 6 cames from that earlier model..... Despite how hard you like your speed, there is no more special engine or anything to make it like your MB190 with a cosworth or like a muscle car being made for many decades or a mini with is own style.....I like mine but if i want a car that will worth more in a decade, i wouldn't get a speed6

The MB with the Cosworth engine goes about 20k now at Hemmings, while BMW's and MB's in the same class as the Speed from the same year are selling at around the same price to slightly less then the speed. Performance and rarity and looks all play a part in what determines the value of the car going forward, so there is at least a shot the speed holds it's value relative to cars from it's era. On an unrelated note, I see your speed is rusted. I've been reading more and more about that issue, where do you have the most problems and is that symptomatic of all the builds or was it confined to a few examples? I have an 08 6 that's rock solid at this point, but living in the NE the rust issue is a concern, especially since this will be my snow car. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score In here the speed6 was about 50k new and now you get a running one for less than 4k and a very clean one that missed most of the winters for about 10k. At some point the speed3 that was cheaper new, is sold for about the same price or even slightly more these days. But any first gen speed asking more than 10k remain for sell for a very long time...Story doesn't say if we quit seeing them because of a price drop but it is what i see. But a rx7, a supra and those kind of car are often see for sell for around 25k I'm in north east of Canada where we get a lot of snow but peoples want to drive on dry road as much as possible so they put so much salt that all cars used for winter get rusted. Mazda around those years are well known to be among the worst for this, it is hard to find a 04-09 base3 without special treatments that isnt very rusted. Back to speed6, the points are -the rear wheel arch -the trunk around the plate -front of the hood i got the wheel arch repaired and the trunk with new steel parts but my hood is still a problem. i have a fiberglass/carbon fiber one to put on it but i was waiting to get a bit more power before having that kind of hood on the car....and even if i got my gt28 installed, i keep an eye to find a local non rusted one at good price that would be black to just swap it.... The floors panels on mine was oiled so it is still in shape but a friend of mine had to repair them as well.

| Not Ranked : 0 score The speed6 or speed3 for that matter isn’t going to skyrocket in price. They will hold some value 20 years from now but don’t expect to cash in, unless you bought one brand new and just stored it will 50 miles on it. Even that is going to be a gamble. At least with ms6 or MS3 running isn’t going to turn into a $800 junker like a normal mazda6 or 3. It will have some value with enthusiast. |
