Funny my CEL in my 07 Speed6 with 74k miles came on driving into work lol.
Got to work and popped my hood, the intake box latches had all popped open. Assuming that was why my CEL came on. Will find out tomorrow when I leave work I guess. Didn't read the code but vacuum leak sounds about right.

Ok update for you bastards. Did a dry compression test. It was around 110 today and went on a short drive. from passenger side to driver side, 180, 179, 179, 180. only did a dry test mileage at 200776. At around 197k I think I ran a can of bg109 through the car to see if it would do anything. I only ever run synthetic oil (5w-40) and 3-4k oci.

Sweet! Impressive - those compression numbers speak volumes. My compression is down pretty bad in cylinder 2, which is why I am about to pull the engine and at minimum get the head serviced. 252,500 miles now.

Damn that sucks. If you getting the block done might as well clean the valves with it out of the car. On that note I have never cleaned the valves and have no idea if the previous owner ever did. I don't think they ever did.

Yeah I have a good place that will grind all the valve seats and replace any parts in the head that are beat up. Going to look the block over carefully. If it's bad, then it's just an excuse to get a built short block. Also going to send my BNR to get freshened up. I am happy as can be with how mine has held up, especially pushing 25 psi.

I have read a little bit on people using cerakote on the top of the pistons, and valve face for thermal barrier. Don't know how much it will actually do.
I guess I should also mention that I was on a 3gal e85 tune for around 40k or so. I have been on a 91 tune for the rest of the time 18.5psi now(shitty CA gas) was 19.5 on etune. Thinking of going back to etune when I have time since I know the motor is good.

Those numbers on those speed6s are beautiful, I'd love to be able to find a fresh low mile canvas like that. I found mine as the 3rd owner at 108k. It's at 153k now with new block at 132k from a low torque cruise condition rod toss. But she's running string now, and gave me reason to spurlge on a few other parts, ya know. I mean I didn't want to put a turbo with 130k on a brand new motor, and same with my clutch fuel pump internals, map sensor and everything else....not that most of that stuff would matter whether the motors new or not, but it was a good excuse to my myself. Luckily I dont have to reason with my lady, she likes anything thatll make the 6 put a few more pounds of boost down.

121,000 miles on my 2012 Speed3. Bought used when it had 55,000. Never cleaned intake valves, never serviced VVT, stock original clutch, been tuned since about 80,000 miles.

I'm guessing/hoping here but there's no vvt tsb for 2011+ 3's is there?

I was under the impression the VVT needed to be serviced on all of our cars regardless of year....

'08 3 with 135k... and the motor goes kablooie. I find myself jealous of both the guys with 30k mile cars and 200+ mile cars. How does that work, lol!

145k , fully bolted, stock turbo 20 ps, no vvt noise... it seems the previous owner might have had the vvt serviced prior

52k on my 06 MS6. Bought it in 08 as a winter beater. Turned out to be too nice a car for that so I ended up buying a truck for winters.

Can't tell you how many times I've done that one. Maybe that's why I have too many cars...

A bit OT, but how many quarts of oil you run? 6.0 per manual and high reading on the dipstick or 5.3 to 5.5 to get a reading at the full mark assuming no BS delete, etc.

I have always run 5.5 for a full reading on the dipstick. Never had problems leaking oil. One time I actually got my oil changed and the guy put 6 full quarts in and I noticed the car drove a bit differently. Not that noticeably but I observed that my fuel economy went down a bit and it just felt a bit more sluggish off the line.

Oil changes and basic maintenance. I don't use fancy oil, I drive it through the snow, rain, and slush, and I push the car plenty - though I have never been to a track. I have a good friend who is an amazing mechanic - he has been a huge help. Good to remember - nearly everything can be fixed.

Some of it might be luck of the draw. Some of it might be the blessing of God. (I serve Him with all my heart.)

I have replaced the clutch at 43,000 (warranty) and 194,000 (needed new clutch when tuning for E85). Losing some compression on Cylinder 2 now, thus the plan to pull the engine and at least service the head.

Top engine cleaner has been a big help. Did that a couple of times.

Good luck with yours! These are awesome cars.

2008 at 175,000. Original Turbo and clutch. Runs and drives great have had to replace the suspension a couple of times and the AC compressor. But other than that nothing major.

Bought my 06 gt with 12 miles on it, now have 86k. Plenty of work done along the way, but she pulls strong and I just can't find any car under 60k that I would be willing to move to.

144,000 miles. I am original owner. Bought '08 MS3 new in Spring '08. VVT and timing chain done by dealer under warranty. Only trip to dealer ever.

Do my own maintenance and mods, as shown below. Static compression is 180 to 190 psi across the board. Runs like a raped ape. Data logs run through VD show 300/300 on pump gas.
