Hey guys, I've been looking at the Car led tail lights for a while and I went on F4D's website today and they are have a group buy promotion. I don't know how many people they are looking for but if you are interested in a set now is the time to buy them!

I'm assuming it's < $350. It's going to be at least 300 but it says 50 semi refundable so I think it's saying in worst case you pay 350 and depending on how many people buy it will be lowered as far as 300. FYI normal price is 400 so you're saving money regardless.

Dug up this old GB thread from 6 club to figure out the brake light situation. The 3rd brake light is for the interior light on the sedans. I don't think we have one there. The brake light for the hatch 6 may fit in our spoiler.

The 3rd brake light of the Speed is in the lip Spoiler. The option for for the normal 6.

Are these really plug and play? I thought with an LED in the turn signal it would make your turn signals flash twice as fast. Is there a built in resistor or something?

These are by far the best looking tails for the MS6.

Yes and yes. Only extra wiring needed is to activate the brake lights on the inner lamps that wasn't standard on the 6. Super easy from 3rd brake light.

Soooo no and no? Plug and play means no additional wiring necessary. So you'll need to tap into the center (3rd) brake light to get the inner brake lights to work?

The turn signal LED's won't flash twice as fast like they would if there was a bulb burnt out?

Let's reexamine your questions so you can understand what you asked and what I answered.

Simplified for you, you are asking 1) Do these simply plug in and work as stock? and 2) Is there a resistor built in.

What is simpler than answering your two questions with yes and yes because that is the answer. They are plug and play as stock and have the resistor built in. Now if you want to activate the optional feature that was not stock like I pointed out then you will have to run an extra set of wires to the inner lamps.

Plug and play? Yes!
Resistor built in? Yes!
Optional brake lights on inner lamps that were not OEM? Yes!
Since you are obviously new to the car, a bit of info for you is that the stock inner lamps were also pre-wired for the brakes as well, but not used in america. Most of us original owners ran that wiring from the third brake light when we bought the cars because it looks more complete.

In @Lewis7789's defense, his focus on his MS6 has been more track/autox related than rice/cosmetic oriented. Except, of course, for the white PD spray job but I guess that could be accredited to anyone's desire to hide corrosion.

The 3rd brake light is led, so getting there led lights is pointless unless you want to use it for something else.

I emailed him back to confirm. I am going to assume it replaced the 3rd brake light on the regular Mazda 6. Which is fine for me because i've been wanting to go with the carbon fiber AutoExe spoiler which doesn't accept a 3rd brake light.

So you are going to retrofit a 3rd brake light using the rear shelf from an MZ6 sedan? Or are you just going to modify the subwoofer cover on an MS6 rear shelf?

Not sure yet. Whatever is easier and cheaper. I'm in no hurry so haven't looked at my options.
