(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Hey to whoever happens upon this, tonight my gen1 speed3 automatically opened up some block vents. I love this car, and refuse to give up on it. It's been one of those things that's always been there for me, so I guess it's kinda sentimental. Beginning of this school year, class starts so I drive to class, parking in a neighborhood far from the campus. Someone still manages to back into me, and runs. Quarter panel and paint + a month and I have it back. For two days, until I hit a deer. That damage took 3 months to iron out b/c of the OEM bumper going mia in shipping. Finally get it back, had it for four days this time, and now I'm sitting here with oil slowly inching towards the 695 medium. It had 116k on it, is incredibly clean and I've always kept up with oil. Was in 6th, cruising but not pushing. A/Fs were great, no weird sounds, car wasn't hot at all. I've *always* had weird issues with cylinder #3 , as in slight misfires when cold, or under boost. A coil pack solved the cold issue, and plugs always solved the misfires/completely dead #3 cylinder under boost. Guess what, the codes I have now are cylinder 3 misfires, so that's probably the one that let go. I'll see if I get any luck with the powertrain warranty, as I did get it from the original Mazda dealer. If not, I guess it's out of pocket time. Would it make anyone feel safer if I grabbed a stock motor and tossed better rods into it? Here, have a brief timeline in a few pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Not Ranked : 0 score Sorry to hear that. Pour some beer out for you fallen block. But dont be to sad since you your hand has been pushed into the relm of fasts. Get a used block and have it done up with new rods pistons and vvt then poof you have a built block ready for mucho boost and spinning tires. I have no idea what your mods are but for a bigger turbo the standard intake, intercooler, dp, internals and a tune are a required minimum
