I'm having trouble deciding between a corksport full downpipe and a corksport catless downpipe with a racepipe. I'm worried of having issues with the lack of back pressure plus I don't know if the lack of back pressure will result in decreased power output. But with the catted downpipe I'm worried that it won't give me enough power because of the extra restiction in the car (even though it's high flow there has still got to be more restriction than just straight pipe).. I don't know which one will give me the best bang for my buck. My first impression was to get the catless downpipe with a racepipe but I keep second guessing myself.

I've got some kid that wants to sell me a Depo downpipe but I've never heard of theM. They are only $149 and it comes with a downpipe and test pipe in one. It doesn't sound like quality to me but I don't know because I've never heard of them. Any thoughts? Keep in mind that it's only $149 and may be worth the try since it's so cheap and if it doesn't work out then I'm not totally screwed.

I'm pretty sure someone posted this already, but I went with a catted CNT downpipe and it's been great so far. I still need to buy an exhaust and e-tune, but the price fit my budget and the performance seems good so far.

Since this seems to be the info thread figured I might as well update this thread as well..

the reason the ebay dps come with a gasket is because the majority use the old school flat/universal vband flanges instead of the male/female specific flanges. The male/female flanges have a lip that fits inside the other end making for a leak proof fit eliminating the need for a gasket. The cheapy ebay versions are just flat surfaces that mate together, no lip, hence the need for a gasket. So its not necessarily the cheap vband clamp(dont get me wrong I would still replaced it asap), but rather the flange style that causes most of the leaking issues.

IMHO flat style flanges are not meant for high backpressure applications, so anyone running cats and/or getting a lot of engine movement from stock MMs is probably going to be prone to leaks moreso than someone with less engine movement and/or freer flowing exhaust(read no cats and full 3" back). If you are in the former boat you should either spend a bit more and get a name brander using 'keyed' flanges or do yourself a favor and start off with upgrading the vband clamp before you install. If you do it afterwards you'll probably also need to replace the gasket as well. best bet there is to modify a 3" exhaust header gasket to fit(someone else deserves credit and has a post on here).

I definitely agree with you on that. My V-Band clamp broke when I installed my downpipe. I highly recommend getting a quality clamp.

Does anyone know if any other short or long down pipes will fit the corksport cat back exhaust with race pipe(for short dp) or long downpipe without racepipe...

Also thoughts on the corksport short down pipe

I decided on the CPE catted DP.

Install was super easy with a lift and soaking the nuts and bolts an hour prior to starting work. All told only took about 2 1/2 hours to do the job once I started actually working on it.

Sounds great with the Cobb exhaust. Just need a equal length mani now as I like the balanced sound more (and its more power too).

Has anyone had any long time problems with the ATP catted downpipes? I've scoured the forums and only really found a few threads on them, they seem like a reputable brand etc, just want first hand experience on them.

I have Turbo XS catless down pipe & racepipe with the CNT Racing catback exhaust & LOVE the way it sounds! It's borderline subaru'ish sounding!

These engines somehow under the right circumstances have that subaru rumble.

That's probably why. IIRC that's what subaru utalizes on those EJ engines
