just a quick querstion here, and i noticed this about almost every post about intakes, noone ever mentions the DC SPORTS CAI.
Amazon.com: Cold Air Intake System: AutomotiveAmazon.com: Cold Air Intake System: Automotive
It says for 06-07 MS3 but i just installed it on my '08 and everything went fine. seems to be inexpensive and i know DC is a reputable brand.
i was curious if there is a particular reason noone uses it. thanks. btw the sound on a completely stock car with jsut the intake is rediculously amazing, the BPV sudenly makes a noise and you can actually hear the turbo spool and wine now. i lovers it!

Doesnt the CPE Nviscid come in both a stock turbo size and a big turbo size? The way this article is currently written makes it sound like the only option is for a big tubo. CPE Nviscid

Can someone add to this thread any information about the MAF housing diameters for the intake options presented in the original post?

Either way adds power to your vehicle. If you really want to get technical, buy one and bring your car to a dyno and find out for yourself.

"OLD" Newbie here!
I've got a new MS3 and am going with a good downtube first and was wondering.
While i'm waiting to have that installed would it help to ventilate the bottom of the stock airbox. I've only heard of one or two people doing this and was wondering if it's worth the effort.

Please, please, please do not discuss this here.
check this out...

STOCK AIR BOX MOD (CHEAP AND EASY)

and by downtube, do you mean downpipe or CAI?

this forum uses downpipe vernacular for the pipe that runs from exhaust out to the pre-cat/cat...

Anyone heard or installed the "COBB TUNING SILICONE INTAKE PIPE - MAZDASPEED3/MAZDASPEED6 2010+" ? Seems to replace the accordeon pipe between the turbo inlet and the stock air box. For 55 bucks seems to be a good mod if you don't want to change the whole thing

Cobb Tuning Silicone Intake Pipe - Mazdaspeed3/Mazdaspeed6 2010+—|—MazdaSpeed3 Intake—|—MazdaSpeed 3—|—Mazdaspeed Parts - Mazda Speed Store

And...

What is the stock MAF housing size ?

Default Intake Question

Do I need a RMM for every brand of SRI to avoid breaking the intake brackets? This will be my first mod and I cant decide between cobb and cork sport. I have a 2010 Speed 3.

looking to purchase the sure Full3 Aeros SI system. I honestly think the best looking, and multifunctional systems on the market. it looks like its meant for a turbo engine, and made with passionate hands soley for mazdaspeed performance. it does not matter what upgrade you have there is a full system for you.

They are all the same. Just get one for your car, not a turbo. SRI would work fine.

I'm aware that some vendors use this in their description, but others don't. Is this possible to add so we can get a direct comparison?

Default Hello!!

Hello!

Please forgive mine bad english but i'm not used to write like this because i'm from the Netherlands, and i have a Mazdaspeed 6 for 2 years now, we call the car here MPS 6, and i was reading here about the air intake and a lot of other things. In Holland there are a few MPS 6, and there are no forums like this about the Mazdaspeed.

I have just ordered the Injen air intake and I have a friend who wants to sell me the Corksport TIP, and my question is, does it match and fitt?

Maybe some of you have the answer for me?

Greatings en Thnx!

Marius from Holland!

You should be fine if you stay away from water that's higher then the bottom of your doors.

Also, We just released Stage 3 CAI's that include the inlet pipe as well and shipping is free to Florida too. Check them out here.
