Thank you Blue Speed. I wasn't sure. I thought I remember issues with those?

Also, now I know I am threadjacking, last night I took our my TB and cleaned the crap out of it. Today my car is supper sluggish, hesitating, as if its on limp mode. I am worried that I messed up something opening the butterfly. Could someone kindly tell me how I can "reset" or "calibrate" it? I am worried I pushed the butterfly too far closed it too far or messed up it's alignment. I'm also getting a P0234 overboost condition. Any other ideas? I'm all ears :/

EDIT: After burning out my brain for 30 hours straight on MSF, I am happy to report this was all a case of user error. One worm drive wasn't tightened. [Insert emoji banging his head on a wall here]

Needless to say, thank you MSF for all the learning I have done. I made a donation today, a small token of appreciation from me and my baby MS3.

Now If only I could figure out how to start a thread "why there is an orange/yellow wire drilled into my ecu coming from the plug, connected to the red wire in the harness?" I'd be in good shape.

Idk if this would be considered jacking the thread but it is definitely intake related and thought it would be useful in case others have the same issue. I recently obtained a used cobb sf intake. When I was installing it, I noticed the maf air straightener inside was slightly curved or warped. Only on one side tho, not both. I was wondering if that would be an issue with the readings for the maf. I will post a pic of it later when I get a chance.

I considered getting a new maf housing but one made of aluminum instead of plastic so that wouldn't be a problem but they aren't exactly cheap and at that price I might as well get a whole new short ram. But when I post the pic I'll let you guys help me determine that.

@rotarican21; you're better off picking up a new 3" intake and call it a day

Default Stock ecu with cai and tip

If I were to go with the corksport stage3 with the TIP do I need to tune it with the AP or can I run it like that for now until I buy the AP also does the corksport tip cause turbo smoking because I believe it's cp-e with the new tip that fixes that problem I could buy the corksport cai and a cp-e tip and be fine right? Will I need a tune?

Corksport also has the same option available. As far as a tune with just the intake yes you can however a tune would be better all around and depends on how much more you want to do to the car from here. And don't forget the internals.

You're better off getting the AP first. After that, you can get any intake you want and you won't be limited to a stock sized intake. You can even go for a 3 inch or 3.5 inch intake.

Also please add punctuation marks to your future posts.. It can be a little hard to understand what you're really asking, when you have like 4 questions in one very long sentence.

Default Feels slow

So I just installed my corksport stage 2 power series air intake and took it for a drive and it felt like my excelleration was slower than normal. Now I did have to replace the valve solenoid and I have not yet replaced the HPFP internals, but they seem to be good. Hitting 1759 psi at WOT. Any ideas?

That's weird. Did you make sure all the piping was tight and secure? If something is lose then you'd deff be leaking air and would loose power. When I bought mine, the clamp right on the turbo from the inlet pipe was loose and leaking under boost. Double check everything. Intercooler piping as well

Like rotarican mentioned, check ALL connections, hose clamps, plugs, etc. I know with my intake (same as yours) I had to Teflon tape the brass fitting that screws into in intake towards the turbo for the small hose to connect to, it was leaking.

Also be sure to check the actual MAF. With mine the o ring was cut, causing a leak. I replaced it and the second one got dislodged (half in/half out) creating a leak. I would always, when installing the MAF sensor, take the SRI off and hold it in your lap so that you can see the o-ring slide in properly. Also use lube, jokes aside, it helps the o-ring fit properly without cuts.

Good luck!

Thank you very much. I checked the tube over the brass fitting and it had come completely off. Ended up putting it back on with a clamp and its held perfectly. Even pushing to 130 mph never came off. I did lube up everything th first time. Helped sensor go in with ease. Thanks guys!

Hi, I'm new to the mazda mps and have heard a lot about the fuel pump internals, would it be fine to install an intake without upgrading the pump internals?
