(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score So I recently have developed an oil leak from the oil return line. It’s leaking at the block side but yesterday I changed the gasket out and it’s still leaking. I’m worried it didn’t tighten the bolts enough but I’m also worried about snapping them or stripping them out. Does did any one every change it before and how much torque can/do I have to put on those bolts to seal it up |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Try replacing those bolts with a stud. At least then you know you will have as much thread engagement as possible. Those bolts do like to strip out, so be gentle on the torque. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score If you have to ask how much torque, you're using too much. OEM gaskets should seal properly. Just make sure you clean both mating surfaces well to remove any old gasket material and/or dirt/debris and that there are no dents or bumps on either side. |
