Default Transfercase Issue.. Need help ASAP

Okay, so this is my first post on here so I am kind of new to this forum. I've had my speed for almost two years now and I just had my engine replaced and rebuilt at a shop a few months ago so its still hasn't been fully broken in yet due to it being parked. I drove my 6 home a few months back and I stopped at a stop light and my car decided it did not want to go forward anymore that is the best way of putting it. when my original engine blew up a small piece of of the block punctured the TC and when we had the engine out we decided it was not a big deal instead of replacing the case for like $1,000 to just JB weld it closed. it held fluids and could maintain the heat. well on my way back from my job when I got the car put back together the gears to go forward did not work however it could still go in reverse perfectly fine. so I had it towed home and it sat for almost three months until this past weekend where I decided to see what was wrong with it. So upon starting and trying to see if there were any leaks I found that the transmission fluid drain plug/bolt was hand tight and the trans was bone dry. so I topped it off with the correct fluid and tried starting it and moving it forward it made the worst grinding noise. If anyone can PM me I could send the videos to you. I got it up completely on jack stands and all four wheels move although there is that terrible sound/ jerking forward and hesitating to move forward. I am not sure what it might be I've heard everything from it being the TC to the pivot shaft boot?? to the passenger side axle. can someone help me out with some advice.

I would suspect that you should have just replaced the transfer case.

When my car went ZZB the hole was behind the starter, I am sure the starter would have worked fine but it had a crack in the case, I just replaced it as a precaution so that pain and suffering were avoided in the future.

Sorry to say but I think that you should have just replaced your T-case from the get go.

I think he means put it in neutral and grabbing your real wheels and turning them by hand.

short answer, buy a new to you t-case.

people part these cars out when they need a headlight so just search facebook and the like and you should find a good deal on one and order those caps even if they are back ordered, I'm going to order some at somepoint, I would have done it while the car was apart but ran out of money for stuff like that so i just dont launch my car at redline and I'm good.
