Default Upgrading from Halogen to HIDs.

Hello Everyone,

I know it seems that I am asking the same old question as others but I could not find any information that seems to solve my question. I am going from Halogen to HIDs in the near future. I already purchased the GT HID headlights for my 2009 Mazdaspeed3. I am trying to get it as OEM as possible. I purchased the headlamp switch/dial used to aim the headlamp. My question is:

Do I need a special wire harness to connect the headlamp switch/dial to the HID headlights?

If thats the case, will that wire harness have the plugs necessary to power the HID?

If I don't need the wire harness, will I need to purchase an H7 to D2S or an AMP to D2S wire harness?

The previous posts I have seen have seen achieved their goal by sourcing a wire harness or splicing wires. I would love to source a wire harness that will make this project simple. But I am not sure what I need. The person I purchased the headlights from has not responded to me about the headlamp switch or any wire harness assosciated with it. I guess he assumed i didn't need it because "all" ms3's apparently have HIDs. Well, thats what he said and we all know that isn't true. Any advice would be most appreciated.

If the hid lights on the Juan are anything like on the pu (referring to HID and Halogen) they're not going to be compatible. For the pu, you can't take an hid version and put it on a halogen. Maybe it's different for the Juans though.

I've read on a previous post that someone successfully swapped out the halogens with HIDs and he had all the stuff needed to make it work because he had a parts car. I don't have a parts car atm. I just need to know if there was a specific wire harness for it. I have the dial that goes next to the DSC button in the cabin but it looks like there may need to be a plug for it to go in. Not sure if its in all the cars on the wire harness but just plugged off. Or if I need an entirely new wire harness that extends in the cabin as well.

Just buy a $40-$50 set of HID's with the OEM size bulb type off of ebay. Much easier, cheaper, and the same light output.
