I use 3. It's what every real Dyno run I've had used.

Subbed for updates and whatnot. Hopefully I can compare this to an actual dyno later, because we all know that all dynos are correct and all read the same numbers.

alright so here is the latest of my logs and virtual dyno. idk why my maf isnt 0 the whole time, i didnt adjust it since last revision which was 0...... it just makes me wonder because my HP jumped up right where i went down to 0 LTFT. also i noticed it adjusts the maf g's too. any thoughts on that?

o and there were a shit load of ppl out tonite so this was the longest i could get a pull goin

i just took pictures of my old actual dyno, which is a heartbreak mustang dyno at 4500ft btw. the good is the curve looks very similar so this program does a really good job! i took a pic of the dyno and the power output because it has the rpms of the max levels on it.

@speedyD, I don't really think you're making 320wtq with the mods listed in your sig.

Justin, I didn't have my AP hooked up when Fred was in my car during that run, so I can't compare it to VD sadly .

You can not log while on the dyno. You MUST do your runs on the street as wind resistance is taken into account. So if you log a run and then get on the dyno ... that would be the best comparison.

Just my 2 cents worth ...

Brad, I'm glad you finally pointed that out. Rates of acceleration are slightly different between a dyno run and a street run.

im not sure, but this thing has been pretty accurate and i have a friend who just dynoed in the area and did 298 and 333 with the same mods as me except he has a front mount.

also, if on that dyno from last year, i had the 2nd highest torque rating compared to about 8 other speeds ranging from mild bolt ons to fully bolted, they all had AP i was on stock tune.

i'm going to get a dyno in the next month probably so we will be able to compare that soon

I'm not saying you're wrong, or its wrong, but I've tossed a few logs in, and when I put 3rd gear, it seems more accurate...but when I switch it to 4th, sometimes it reads crazy high, and dyno wise 4th gear is perfect for our car, and I get stuff way different on a legit dyno.

word, well this was from the same tune, except when i changed the throttle tables for some reason it was cutting my throttle down, i went full throttle to 70 then slowly back up to full throttle towards the end of the graph. so i just went back into atr and undid what i did and got the graph i prevously posted.

as far as everything goes it seems to be pretty consistent. although im not gonna lie, i did put up the higher of the two logs i did, but they were both very similar.

Either my car's a factory freak, or this thing is off, 'cause I find these numbers hard to believe. I even logged IAT's and Barometric Pressure and put those into the SAE correction factor to make it as realistic as possible.

Someone really needs to do a good comparison between VD and a real dyno.

If you are calculating for wind resistance, is CdA taken into account?

road condition and slope makes a huge dif. I have a plot of me going 400whp after correction...slight downhill. I also have one making over 800whp/800wtrq cuz it was drying up after spit of rain and I had DSC/traction off...spun right to 6000rpm.

With re: to comparison with a real dyno, I have one. During that day, my baseline dyno was at 348/366...that same night I pulled a street log and it registered somthing like 338/360 on VD.

I live in a ruralesque part of Northern IL. Roads here are very flat and very straight for the most part.

The road I use for tuning is pretty new and smooth as well.

looking at your log, it seems like you also have realtively lower baro numbers. for reference, our airport always reports a slight lower baro than the city, and using the airport's numbers will always give me high read-out on VD.

and who knows...maybe you have a really fast car...mods?

Yeah what are your mods? You're about the same power as I'm making. A little less than me but not much and Im pretty much fully bolted without ex-mani or catback at 21-22 psi no meth.

I logged barometric pressure during the run and used that number plus the IAT reading for the SAE correction. If I remember correctly that dropped the numbers down a bit.

Power mods are minimal. SRI, TIP, catless DP, AP. Mods that may add power are ITV-22's and catback. Stock HPFP and TMIC as said before.

FWIW, the local weather station is showing the baro as 29.26 inHg right now, at an elevation of 662 ft above sea level.

I'll post my logs tonight for reference.

Coeff of drag is taken into account in the wind resistance calculations.

To all the non-believers ... I welcome you to do a comparison between a dyno pull and virtual dyno. I do caution you to make sure you abide by the rules for getting a decent log to graph though (flat road, no wheel spin, good clutch ... you know ... no rookie stuff).

Ive seen this same thing on multiple forums and they all come to the same conclusion in the end. When used right ... its accurate. Check HPTuners, EvolutionM, EvoXForums, Subaru Legacy forums, 3si, NASIOC ... etc

got some dedicated webspace but moving the site is being a pain. So in the next few days when they transfer my domain if I dont have everything moved there may be some server outages till I get it rebuilt. Just warning you guys of the move. Grab it now if you want it or it may be down for a few days.

Thanks ... and bear with me as I move this thing to a more reliable connection and server environment.

Even if it goes down we can host it here for a while, I'm sure.

For VIP members anyway.

I should have everything moved to the new server now ... the domain takes a few days for the hosting to switch. Im waiting on that to flip over to the new host and see if it breaks anything. I should have everything up on the new server though. Granted there are always hiccups.
