Default What the hell is that noise?
I experienced the chirping fuel pump on cold start a few days ago, and that got me thinking we get a lot of questions on clunks, rattles, grinding, scraping, etc pretty frequently, so I figured I'd make a compilation. Feel free to add anything you can produce a discernible video/audio clip for or a short guide for something obvious.

DRIVETRAIN

Transaxle clunk MS3, passenger side

Very informative posts. I think I have some videos around here somewhere of endlinks creaking. I know you already have that but more is always better.

Here's a vid of my car when it had a bad front wheel bearing. Noise is more noticeable around the 10 second mark.

for the endlinks/swaybar noise and for the bushings noise are these something that needs to be dealt with or just the normal noises?

yeah wtf is up with the duck call? when it gets really really cold ive been getting it every single start. its only happened this year too (2nd winter owning my ms3)

Think I've narrowed my problem to endlinks and strut bearings. She is going into the shop tomorrow

This is very informational!

I drove my car to work this morning when it was 19 degrees and the car made some noises I never heard before going over bumps, also the hatch was rattling.

I also noticed the blower motor makes a weird noise too when it's really cold, no noises when it's warmer than say 40 I guess.

This is on a 2012 MS3.
