Default Accessport V2 Screen is Dead

I plugged my Accessport V2 into my car today just to monitor and the screen never lit up. After checking with it connected my computer, it appears to be just a screen issue because all of my maps are still stored on the unit and it even updated itself to the most recent version. I've done some searching and have already found that some AP V2s had screen issues and heard that Cobb should warranty those.

I have already sent @Cobb Tuning; an email detailing my situation and I am awaiting a reply from them. I'm not here to bash or vent at Cobb but I was wondering if it is still possible to uninstall the AP from my car with the screen being dead and unable to read the output message/status?

IIRC, these steps should get me to the uninstall screen:
  • Make sure AP is connected to car
  • Turn car to ON position
  • Click down 4x (This should be the About AP tab)
  • Click OK
  • Click down 2x (This should be uninstall)
  • Click OK 2x (Once to enter uninstall screen and a second time to confirm uninstall)
  • Wait approx. 4 minutes
  • Turn car off for 10 seconds
  • Turn car back to the ON position
  • Click OK to complete uninstall

After you click OK the last time, I think you should be at the install screen. Can anyone confirm this for me, or has anyone tried doing this?

TLDR: AP screen died, Can you uninstall AP if screen is dead?

When I warrantied mine I didn't uninstall my tune since it had a 3" intake on it and obviously wouldn't be drive-able. You can warranty the AP to them with the tune still on the car.

I know that probably didn't answer your question, but yes, the AP does still work even though the screen isn't showing.

I do have the 3" intake, but I have a work car that I could drive if the mazda was down.

Most send it back married. New screen won't mean that it's getting replaced.

I sent mine in still paired with the car.
$100 later it was sent back to me with just the screen replaced.

Someone else on the forum had luck disassembling and re-connecting the plug for the screen. Obviously don't do this if your V2 is still under warranty.

AP v2 screen failure possible fix

I've also had a dead screen. Sent into to Cobb and they foxed it even tho it was about 6 months out of warranty. Was very pleasantly surprised!
