Finally got tired of looking at the scratched original protector that comes on the AP. Attempted to cut out a new one from some extra screen protectors I had laying around for my cell but my hand is not steady enough to make a "perfect" cut. The only decent one I ended up keeping wants to bubble up around the sides.

So who makes them. I want pre cut ones. If no one makes them I'll just buy more and keep trying to make a better fitting one.

I have a brand new Cobb I bought the other day, and opened last night. I removed the white sticker that says (removable film), and assumed they were talking about the screen, and noticed the screen either scratches easy with my finger nail or has a really hard protector on it. Fail or what?

If you peeled the original screen protector off (mine was really thin and also scratched easily) There should be nothing else under that. Haven't tested to see how easily the screen scratches. I butchered a cell phone protector and made it fit as good as possible.

Turns out they do put plastic piece over the screen.......I peeled it off and no problems.

I make my own screen protectors, here is how:

Pick up a full body iPad Zagg shield since it has a ton of surface to make your own protectors. You can get universal ones to cut yourself, but you get so much more for the money with the iPad version.

Take the device you want to make the protector for, a piece of paper and a traditional pencil and set the paper of the screen of the device.

Holding the pencil sideways basically shade over the area where the screen is below the paper. Since the screen has an edge you should get a darker line where the edge of the screen is.

Cut out the darker line and now you have a stencil essentially to make a protector with.

So at this point I'll take the 'stencil' and place it on the back paper of the Zagg shield, take a thick permanent marker and just go around the edge of the paper leaving the outline on the back of the Zagg shield.

Cut it out, apply and done.

I've done this for my digital cameras and other stuff in the past. Haven't done it to my AP yet, but I will soon...
