KR warning light/flash

It'd be awesome if you guys could incorporate a flash/alert of some sort that can be programmed to read KR (similar to the shift light that can be programmed). I think it'd be a nice feature to have if you're monitoring your AFR or another parameter while doing a WOT pull while still having an idea of whether you're knocking or not.

Say you set the monitor to read KR of 2.0+ if your car pulls that much timing the screen will begin to flash, indicating the car is knocking. I think it could potentially save a few people some cash/engines.

Just an idea.

Not that I'm aware of, hence this thread. I don't have, nor do I want a DH. I use my AP for monitoring at all times...just thought this would be nice to have.

+1 This is a great idea. I hope that future APs will be developed to view more than one parameter at a time and offer more warnings. KR, HPFP pressure, AFR, and boost are the four that seem most important to me.

DH owner here.

KR alerts work pretty well on it. I made some adjustments so that mine never goes into the full screen alert mode so that I can still see what else is going on when it goes off. Sometimes it's interesting to watch it countdown when the car is 'doing it's thing'. The change in background color is enough to grab my attention if it decides to act up at WOT.

Fuel Pressure alerts can be set, but are pretty pointless. When you're not at WOT and especially when idling, the fuel pressure is supposed to be low(er) so it alerts you all the time. For a truly useful HPFP alert it would need to let you set an alert threshold while also considering throttle or boost or load or something.

I know you're talking AP here, just adding some thoughts to an interesting topic.

You can set the annunciator light on the Aeroforce gauges to do this. Mine goes off over 0.6

I've had something on the backburner that one-ups the DH and deals with some of the issues the DH has - it improves on the functionality. We'll see how quickly I can get it done. For now, no more details

Yes, the DH does have the ability for staged alerts for KR. The downside is that you can't set it up to only monitor KR in OL (WOT). The issue is that many cars (mine included) show several degrees of false knock when cruising in CL at low loads around 2500-3500 RPM. It can be reduced by pulling timing in those areas, but that limits the ECU's ability to optimize timing.

EDIT: If you turn on the KR monitoring on the DH anyways, it flashes at you all the fucking time while driving through town and on the highway. Really distracting.

Maybe @Lex can get the KR mic linked to your speakers so you get visual and audible warnings, lol.
