I thought so from what I read on the Cobb site, but wanted to be sure.

Thanks!

All I want to do is set the LC and FFS...I don't want to pay the $149 just to set that on the Cobb AP tune. C'mon guys! Looks like I'll be reflashing back to my Freektune I guess.

I guess this change makes my old AP V2 with accesstuner race in some ways more valuable than a new V3.

what other tuning solutions can be run off a phone app? sorry, i have been researching but this is all new to me

Default Accessport

Your best bet though for right now is still buying an AP for your mazdaspeed. Whether it be the V2 or V3 you will still be able to utilize it however not to it's full potential. Cobb charges to be able to fully customize the AP with the accesstuner but if you just want to use the OTS maps, those work really good also. There's always the option though to go with all the other aftermarket tunes like freektune, etc.

I haven't heard of any phone apps that will allow you to tune the mazdaspeed 3 like how the AP, versatuner, etc. can. So like I said your best bet will still be with the AP. IMHO of course.

The new ATR changes are really only relevant if you intend to self-tune. If your plan is to e-tune with someone like Freek or Purple Drank, then you're just fine without having a copy of ATR since they do all the work in Pro and you just use AP Manager to load the map to your AP. I still dislike the exact manner in which Cobb has handled this scenario but at the end of the day, as a non-self-tuner, it doesn't really effect me negatively other than my impression of the company.

Versatuner blows Cobb out of the water. I haven't had a single regret making the switch.

not sure if this is a dick thing to ask or whatever, but is anyone willing to take a map i have and just turn off the CEL code for the EGR valve? At this point that's all I would need AT for.

We can't, maps are locked to each user.

ah crap. so how does one tune another's car? the owner must then apparently have to have AT to even pay someone else to tune their car? this overall blows nuts. what a waste of money to even buy the Cobb AP.

No. That's not accurate.

You can't tweak maps yourself without ATR (not AT - this is a little too close to the abbreviation that some people use for Autotech HPFP internals).

However, you can get maps that are locked to your AccessPort, and to your car from a pro-tuner or an E-tuner, save them to your AccessPort using AP Manager, and then load the tune on your car.

well right now i'm just using an OTC map from Cobb. it's one with a CS intake and TIP. i just need that one code removed so my CEL isn't on 24/7. is that possible then?

You can clear the code using the AP itself, but you will need a custom tune to disable the MIL. Keep in mind, even if you disable the MIL, the car will still show that the EGR system is "not ready" if you have to pass emissions.

yeah and i have cleared it. but it's a PITA to do it every time i start the car. the 'custom' tune could just be updating that code to disabled and keep the same OTC, right? that's all i'm looking for if that was an option.
