Windows 8 and datalogs

So I don't understand why the same 2010 office pro (i have used for my win7 computer) won't open cobb datalogs using excel 10'. I get a blue screen that tells me "This app can't run on your PC" and " to find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher".

I asked Evan already but it seems it might be a Win8 issue. So anyone run into this problem? What do I need to do to make it work?

Uninstall windows 8
Install windows 7

What's the version of Win8? Can you open Excel at all? Even just a blank spreadsheet?

I'm presuming that since you've got the Cobb stuff installed your not on Win8 RT.

I'm running win8 pro on my Slate and it runs both cobb and office 10 no sweat.

Not sure which version of window's 8. Probably whatever most new laptops come with now.
I can open excel 10, no problem. Maybe it's cause I did my logs before I installed the AP to the new computer?... But would that even matter?

So, AP Logs are in a standard CSV format (comma separated values)

Knowing nothing else about what you're working with aside from the assumption that Cobb AP Manager and ATR are successfully installed I would suggest that you try saving an excel file as a csv file from within excel and then opening it again. This tests your ability to do csv files, to save and open that format.

In theory, if CSV is available as a save to format, and you can open that file you just saved, then you should be able to open log files.

If you still blue screen when opening cobb ap log files, then attach one here and let us take a look at what your playing with.

Okay I got a lil bit further now. So for some reason excel 10 on this win8 computer can't open/save the logs in unicode txt file like on my win7. It only saves (without giving weird message) as excel workbook file.

So what I did was open excel and drag/drop the log into excel. It opened up perfectly. When I go in and save it to anything other than excel workbook file it saves it all weird.

Now I just need to figure out how to do it so it can open up the logs automatically like my win7.
