Is that with the resonator still in?

So here's a weird question. I installed my CNT cbe the other week. The right tail pipe is full of soot while the left one is clean, yet it feels like the exhaust flow out of both tailpipes are the same. I noticed that your tailpipes look similar. Any thoughts on that?

yea. the right tailpipe on mine is covered with soot and the left is spotless. u can put ur hand on each side and tell the right one flows WAYYYY more.to me it seems its the way the it enters the muffler portion of the exhaust. follow the line i drew on this pic. now does it restrict flow by only flowing out of one? i dont think so, but im not knowledgeable enough to answer that.

Mine is the same way, was just about to post and say something. it does not flow the left muffler at WOT like the right one. Kinda bummed about that

Yeah it pretty much only flows out of the passenger side
. Doesn't like to do the 180° turn into the driver's side.

Personally, as long as that doesn't hurt the flow I dont really care.

Robry- did you take the resonator off or kept it on? Either way it sounds amazing with a dp pair up with this exhaust. It has that nice rumble sound crusing and sounds awesome at wot! Thanks for posting up a quality sound clip.

Catless with the resonator in. If Thomas can get the non-resonated pipes made I will probably buy one so I can get some more sound.

there is nothing to gut, it's a straight through resonator piece. Only option is cutting it and putting a pipe in, would rather wait for ERZ to just sell the pipe.

So got the exhaust today and just got finishing the installed hr ago. The install was straight forward nice welds and good quality exhaust. Cnt did a great job . It sounds nice , but will removed that third muffler eventually it's holding back that rumble sound . My only issue is the tail pipes. My right one no issue but the left one looks like its touching the bumper . I'm gonna stop by my buddy's shop tomorrow to try to fix that issue. Overall I'm very happy and will paired the cnt dp with it in the future. Will need internals first. I try to post a pic up soon on how it looks.

bend the hanger on the body of the car. i took a crescent wrench and bent mine down just a hair. dont go crazy with it. this took mine off the bumper. also, try to loosen the bolts and then hold the exhaust where u want it...then tighten down.

as far as sound. mine has gotten a little louder with a week of driving. im going to give it a few weeks to see how it does before i start gutting it.

still a lil unhappy about the exhaust only flowing out of one side though. here's a test. drive the car. then touch the left muffer...mine was cool. touched the right one.....well lets just say im missing skin on my hand. hahaha

Yea your right I did touch the left muffler and it was not hot at all as I was checking the idle sound. And thanks for advice I will tell him to do that. What I did enjoy the smell of new exhaust during the ride home lol. I also notice vibration on pedal now during acceleration , not sure if that's normal.

@ERZperformance. do you feel that flow is being restricted by the exhaust only flowing out of the right side? just curious bc i havent seen any comment on this discussion.

mine smoked like a freight train at first. on the vibs...make sure none of the exhaust is touching the body of the car

Yea ... I'm at the shop now and we figure out the vibe the pipe with resonator was hitting the car. Their currently realigning the axle back and they bent the hangers a tad. I'm also got the resonator removed and my buddy at the shop got a 3 inch pipe and he's doing the weldi g now . I try to get a sound clip when everything done.

I don't think flow will be highly affected. Also it seems like my left muffler is doing more now that there is a ton of soot in the right one.

The CNT Racing exhaust design is just like COBB, UR, OBX and speed daddy exhaust flow comes from the driver side and exit in the middle but because exhaust flow is from the driver side it get push to the passenger tip more. The driver side tip the exhaust flow will need to make a U turn just like COBB, UR, OBX, and speed daddy. But you don't need to worry from the design and piping size there is enough exhaust flow to handle any Mazdaspeed 3.

lol ERZ, do you have any idea when a midpipe could be made available without a resonator? My exhaust guy would do it for 50-70$, if you think a pipe could be made in that same quality for under 100$ I would buy it rather than modifying. Then I could swap anytime I wanted.

Hey man I was not thinking I should had took a pic of the pipe . My issue is that it's vibrating again, kinda ruining the nice rumble growl I had . And I might be the only one that can't get the axle back to flush right even with the bumper . They try numerous of times . Gonna have my car back at my bud shop in few weeks to get the vibration and axle back to flush right. It's funny they had the flush perfectly till they found a leak and fix it and now the tips got push back up some how. Now it sits left pipe slightly by the bumper and the Right tailpipe hangs down making it uneven tips lol. It never ends . But the exhaust is awesome , they all compliment how well the welds are and how it sounds .

get under there and bend the hangers on the body side a little bit. you can probably get to it without even jacking the car up. my left pipe was touching the bumper also. i bent the hanger just a little bit and all is good now

I had to cut the front hanger because it was touching the frame of the car, was way too long. the exhaust was touching the bumper slightly when I installed it, so what I did was loosen the back muffler to pipe and pushed up on it, then re-tightened it. This pulled the tips down from the bumper and made them even on the car too.

Just got mine in the mail. Didnt order the rice blue tips but got them anyways. wife is making fun of me. here is a pic of bluetips. interior welds are very nice. quality product forsure. will post a review after install

blue tips dont look too bad, I just ordered mine this morning.. hopefully recieve it by the end of next week. Haven't found too bad sound clips on youtube, probably because its a fairly new product.
