Clutch Reccomendation

ok seems like the slave is the only part that needs to be replaced based on the feedback on here. Could be in my head but the car seems to rev up more freely. I believe the street lite flywheel is 6 pounds lighter then stock?

i beleive thats about how much lighter it is, and it is gaining/losing rev's faster due to less rotating mass.

Ok so day 2 of driving around with this thing....pedal is stiffer and shorter but not annoying. If you get this thinking its gonna feel stock your gonna have a bad time. It just generally feels more aggressive in every aspect...catches every gear very quick and percise. Getting going in first takes some finnese.

I put about 25K miles on my 6 puck - normal daily driving - no drag or road racing - and the disk shows minimal wear. I'm replacing the disk anyways since the motor is out, just to get that extra 25k out of it, but I'm guessing that with normal daily driving, the disk would last at least 75k miles...

The shop is supposed to mic the used and new disks to see how much material was actually used during that 25k miles...

I have 25ishk miles and the clutch was slipping at 400wtq got off e85 so it put me 340ish wtq and it only slipped when I did back to back pulls. Now that the weather has cooled down it doesn't slip on 91. Haven't tried e85 yet.

I have CP-e stage 1 clutch with a stage 2 block. Very conservative tune (292 ft-lbs) and don't really abuse my car. The stage 1 is a stiffer pedal than OE. Took me a little time to get use to it. Currently about 5-6K miles. Sorry, no torque specs. Includes CP-e lighten FW.

It depends how you drive the car...boosten ya told me he isnt very nice to it...so im sure that plays a role.

True. I try not to slip the clutch and havent overheated it at all (on this clutch) #3 but I do powershift the fuck out of it when I race....and brake boost of course.

One more update...Day 3 this clutch is friendly...havn't stalled once leg dosn't hurt. Overall for daily driving it's no biggy. Anyone that complains about this clutch is a bitch.

Yes it's stiff but you get used to it. I love the way this clutch feels. Sitting in traffic for an hour+ does suck

don't get me wrong it feels like an after market clutch....but prior to me getting it people are like its gonna be horrible man your not gonna wanna drive anymore. I want to provide accurate first hand info to anyone looking to get this clutch. My friend who has a ms6 drove it last night and he was surprised how user friendly it was.

Remember that how fast torque ramps up plays a huge role versus overall torque. On a K04 the torque hits very hard and can make a clutch slip while on a bigger turbo torque ramp up is slower.

I have zero complaints with the clutch/flywheel combo in my sig. It has held over 400wtq for 2 years and 30k miles and slips like butter under all scenarios not including slipping at < 800 RPMs from a stop , which results in minor chatter. Since my idle is set to 900 RPMs, even this is a non-issue.

The only caveat is that I haven't drag raced with this clutch or abused it outside of FFS and high power rolls.

I was concerned about FFS with the new clutch...didnt want to wear it out faster...but fuck it i only use it when sushi rolling

Just wait till you try to drive someones car with a stock clutch and punch your foot through the floor board...

I had a spec stage 2 on my mustang... seriously felt like a 1,000lb leg press. Eventually you get use to it, but I hadn't drove the car in over a year... and I swear to god I thought I could barely push the pedal in.

Yeah my friend has a built/turbo scion tc he has the act non 6 puck. It is MUCH MUCH heavier then the 6 puck on the ms3. I wounder how the 6 puck feels the the ms6 compared to the ms3

@boostdmazda3; do you have the hook up at the Mazda dealer you had your clutch replaced still? I think my clutch is slipping at 30K miles and want to see if they will warranty it. I'm hoping the are mod friendly.

They will not warranty it unless it breaks. It's a wear item.

The pad material is one difference, but the 3 (carbon graphite) is a six pad design and the 3+ (carbon semi metalic) is a solid disc.

Technically it should last longer but clutch life is very dependent on the driver.

Different manufacturers have different idea's on stage 1/2/3. I'd recommend going to edges website and read the description to help make your decision.
