Cobb AP "stock" tune Turbo PSI

Hey Everyone,

While waiting for my JBR SRI to arrive I decided to load the 91 safe stock tune to see what it is like. I must say, the throttle response is EXTREMELY improved. I felt like I was in a totally different car. I didn't notice too much of a difference in power, but I wasn't expecting anything radical since it was the safe tune. With this run, I really just wanted to see how to datalog with the device.

One thing I did notice while data logging was that I reached max boost of ~12.5psi at 4400rpm and tapered off at ~10-11psi at about 5500-6k.

Does anyone know if this is how the car is supposed to respond? I thought the car stock was supposed to be able to reach 15psi. Could this mean I have a leak or crappy turbo? Attached is a datalog of the run.

As this is my first time running a log, I am also very interested in if my Fuel pressure and any knock that registered. It seems that at WOT the fuel keeps up, and doesn't go below 1500, so I think I am safe. I am however, not too sure about when I am coasting and not on the throttle. Is it ok for it to dip a lot lower than that? I'm guessing it is ok since there is no need for a lot of fuel. As soon as I do hit the gas it responds immediately .

During the run I noticed a few instances of knock. While none of these values are above 1.0, I am still concerned that anything is registering on this "safe" tune.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've attached the run incase anyone is interested in taking a look.

The JBR SRI/TIP actually arrived today, and I plan on installing it along with the stratifed tune this weekend. However the slight knock that showed up in addition the lack of turbo boost has me a little worried.

Stop! Seriously man just stop. You need to READ MORE. Don't just pull the AP out and start flashing maps. While you did go the safe route and flash the 91 safe mode, you don't know why you flashed it and don't know what to expect.
The safe map does target less boost.
The map is designed to taper boost at redline.
Knock below 2* is nothing to worry about. Addressed, yes but not worry.
With the car in idle rev the gas and watch the fuel pressure. That is what is normal. Around 400psi at idle and up to sometimes 1900psi at WOT is all normal depending on how much gas you are giving it.
Only be worried if you see below 1600psi at WOT.
READ Abilors tuning guide, bucker's ATR cheat sheet, Lex's knock retard explained and Dano's boost tuning. When you are done reading those, read them again. And again.

Will do; thanks for the thread topics. I'll make sure to throughly read them multiple times. The low boost kind of threw me for a loop. I know it is supposed to taper to readline, but I thought it at least would hit a little closer to 15psi and then taper.... oh well

It will but not on a "safe" map. The stock tune is load limited so that's why you will see the stock boost gauge lose a bar sometimes. The stratified map that comes with the intake will most likely address all your problems and concerns.

To do a log only do a WOT run. start the log at 2500-3000 rpm and floor it until redline then stop logging.

The knock retard you are seeing is partial throttle knock...completely normal.

Awesome; thanks everyone for their advise. I'll definitely make sure to donate next paycheck. I just purchased the AP and JBR SRI/TIP, so I am a little strapped for cash. Next logs I run I'll make sure to only do WOT.

Thank god for search.. Needed the same kind of info actually now I can just read up on those articles . Mostly iffy about even putting a tune into my car at all with a stock fuel pump. Wish I could get it sooner
