Default Hey Guys!

Ive been a long time troller around this forum since i do not have a speed 3 yet BUT!
I'm picking a 2012 tech white speed 3 for $24,xxx sticker price with S-Plan first week of Dec.
Dont worry I plan on donating
One question I have is
did you guys get the warranty as well? I was thinking about it....
It was 2100 for 100k miles bumper to bumper.
My logic was turbo was going to break down and the warrenty covers it thoughts?

Thanks guys!

If you plan on modding... don't get warranty. If you plan on stock then perhaps.

If modding....

Welcome, no need for the extended warranty if you plan on modding (as stated above) IMO.

No extended warranty period, even if you DON'T mod. If you're worried about the turbo taking a dump down the road, take the $2100, invest/save it until you need it. By then it should have grown substantially.

If after your factory powertrain warranty expires you want to mod (assuming you haven't already started), you'll have a nice nest egg to fund your modding.

'Sides, I'd be willing to bet replacing a stock k04 for another k04 is less than $2100!

You have until 3/36k to buy extended. For $2100, that better be $0 deductible.

I only recommend one if 1st year model, or if truly keeping it for that long. Then agin, I am on 2k miles and 5 years, without extended warranty on my 1st ar model, no plans to sell.

Wait until close to b2b expiring before deciding.

don't get the warranty. If you mod it they will void it. Or at lest some of it.

I have extended warranty through GEICO for $50/year. 5 yr/100,000 miles. I thinks its called mechanical breakdown coverage with $250 deductible.

The big question you have to ask yourself is. Are you planing to mod it? if so the extended warranty isn't the way to go. Like I just said above mods can void the warranty part or all.

Don't mean to bring up old posts BUT because I am insured with geico, they tack in a 7 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty already included in your policy. All you have to pay is a 250 dollar deductible. That is pretty badass IMO

Any local parts center that sells paints, you can buy VHT red out. And it's a spray tint. You can get either red or black.

Extended warranties (like insurance) are gambles. You're gambling that you're the exception (an outlier) not the rule.

If a company offers an extended warranty, they do it to make money. Therefore the average amount paid out in claims must be less than the average premium. They have plenty of people working out the statistics to ensure that this is the case.

So on average a person will come out ahead by not paying for an extended warranty, however X number of people will submit claims > cost of premium. For them it will be worth it.

Are you willing to bet you're gonna be one of them?
